From TMF

And while the broader Shanghai stock market has fallen 4% over the period, Mr Bolton has cannily put two‑thirds of his funds in stocks listed in Hong Kong, where the market is up 13%

THe market dosnt like it, down 2p.

Also 'China may raise rates' though that makes the Yuan attractive, and our Fund is invested in China. So it could be OK for us. Views anyone?

Long term this will be good for shareholders.Im in for the long term.Short term we have done really well.We aint seen nothing yet.Fidelity will not let us down.AB was delighted when he got the backing from the British people and it will spur him on to greater things.Lots of the so called experts thought he was mad.He talked it over with his wife and she said "Go for it ".So its also a big thank you to Mrs AB.Patience will be richly rewarded.Looking forward to the new share issue and you can bet your bottom dollar we will be taking up our allotment.

there may still be dilution. You dont know that the discount to current holders is not simply a token one.

I am glad to hear about that discount. A dilution of holdings would have been outrageous.

But its an investment company, if he can bring in more money to the fund then he can add to his investments.

YEs it amounts to that. And with more QE, I want to add to the Fund holdings I have ASAP, but I'm put off by this talk of C shares issue.

Hi,
People buy and people sell !. This is also an investment company so if the opportunity arrives for the fund to raise new money to invest, go for it.

What about a cut off point somewhere.People who bought at the original £1 could receive a dividend of say 5% which would drive down the price. Then see what happens in say six months and do the same thing again.A sort of loyalty bonus. As more people buy and hold the premium dividend will lower the nav.Maybe this is a foolish suggestion. I dont understand what Hectorp is saying.

Could create a good opportunity to buy in for long termers. If you are going to invest in a China fund, its going to be this one as a top choice. A lot of money flowing in emerging market direction by all accounts, which we know is creating this pent up demand. More shares = more clout and flexibility for AB. I will buy that, not really fussed if premium drops 8% short term.

Yes... being discussed on Alphaville today.. eg
NH
the fund is doing very well
NH
trading above NAV
NH
and they want to find away to let more people
NH
join in the Bolton genius in China
BE
Um – how? By some kind of B share issue?
NH
C share issue
NH
a top contact
NH
sent this earlier

-You launch a new share class – FCSS C PLC for instance, then you take in subscriptions to it and ring fence the assets. Once the C share is invested in the same stuff as the original, then there's a share exchange. It means that the new subscribers bear all the costs of the subscription, whereas a rights issue shares costs between new and old.

It's the fairest way
NH
although
NH
they might decide not to bother with that
NH
and just do a big placing

But when. Many so called experts running Absolute Funds have shorted Japanese bonds and are still waiting for the pay off.Over the last year some are down 2%.AB knows what he is doing.QE2 will delay all this.

Noted Geitner's posturing , it was transparent. The US will want to devalue, his strong dollar view is a smokescreen. No-one is convinced.
Seems the Yuan is 40? percent undervalued. At some point it has to appreciate.
