US cinema market seems in robust health

hxxps://uk.webfg.com/news/news-and-announcements/us-blockbusters-boost-cineworld-revenues--3691321.html

Cineworld on Wednesday said 2018 revenues would increase by 7.2%, driven by a strong US film slate with films such as Black Panther attracting record numbers of filmgoers.

Group admissions increased by 2.6% compared with the prior year to reach a record 308m

No idea though whether FFI provided a completion contract to Black Panther or not.

do not really agree with you dave, companies like these at beaten down prices, with relatively small correlation to the economy in general, are pretty rare and can offer tremendous value, and i'm not talking about 20%. Maybe my post wasn't clear enough, i hope anyone can explain me the risks, mainly in the insurance part of the business, so i dare to increase my position. I think it is potentially that kind of opportunity(fevertree like), especially since there are so many new moving parts, a few disappointments, maybe some forced selling, who knows? and nobody really grasps the potential and the risks. because for me, it can also be that kind of company with eternal disappointments and hidden risks.

interesting one though

Even if you are not sure about the business or long term the overhang play itself should generate plenty of interest. I'm sure plenty of buyers are thinking there is a quick 20-40% here when the seller clears.

It seems all buys today? 835.000 for now and counting. Picked some up. Lot of new moving parts, don't yet fully understand all the risks yet, like in the insurance business, establishing their own insurer, hence a small position. If one care to explain, feel free.

The main reason i bought in : management apparently had the foresight to diversify the business, cause the way i see it it's the old business dragging it down and the new businesses actually "rescuing" it from being much worse.

Mental this.

I wonder if one of the 3-10% holders is the seller.

Unless 2 or more sub 3% sellers are at it then they should be cleared out by now.

Online is good thought 22.5-22.99p so mm's bidding mid price now for stock.

If volumes carry on like this you like to think the overhang will clear this week.

First upward movement in the bid too.

Guessing other mm's are aware overhang is clearing and want stock ahead of the bounce

Strong buying here last few days - This is well overdue a rise back towards 30p imo now.

The LSE is reporting another glut of 1 day delayed trades.

All of them at 22p. 200k, 470k, 195k, 300k, 200k and 131k

Once again serious volumes of stock changing hands with again no movement in price.

Surely a holding Rns is overdue here.

22.98p offer now

And still no mm will move up to 22p bid

They push almost every stock on my monitor up and down but on this one it's a total stalemate

This cannot continue buywell.

If it's sub 3% holder or even 2 holders the volumes and constant uncrossing of size for months now would clear them and at least have one new holding Rns of a new buyer or increased stake.

Stick my neck out and say tomorrow is the day.

Uncrossed at 23p so it means it will open showing 1p down when mm's open at 22p mid price in the morning unless news.

Once again massive delayed trades from previous day, how long can this continue for??
