24/10/2018 12:36 | This is looking like good value. Is there likely to be any downturn in US plumbing supplies sales in the near future? I'm thinking the recent drop is more about a correction in overall market and to an extent ferg itself. Thinking about buying.... | thebullhunter

19/6/2018 10:56 | Happy with these results. - Ferguson said Tuesday trading profit rose 17.1% in the fiscal third quarter of the year, from the same period a year ago as revenue jumped 10.2%. For the 3 months to 30 April, trading profit rose 17.1% to $356m, revenue was 10.2% ahead of last year at $5.1bn, while net debt was slashed to $260m from $1.47bn following the sale of Stark Group for about $1.2bn. Revenue growth was largely driven by strong US performance more than offsetting weakness in the UK. US revenue rose 11.5% to $4.11bn at constant exchange rates, while UK revenue fell 10.9% to $629m. The company blamed the weakness in the UK on the closure of branches and the exit of the wholesale business towards the end of the first half. Following shareholder approval on 23 May, the company confirmed that it plans to move ahead with a special dividend of $4 per share, equivalent to about $1bn -- slated for 29 June. 'The US continued to grow strongly with organic revenue growth of 10.6% in the quarter. Growth was broadly based across all US regions, supported by good market conditions,' said John Martin, Group Chief Executive. 'The fourth quarter has started well with organic revenue growth in line with the third quarter.' | broadwood

02/5/2018 11:41 | FERG arose out of a name change - previously Wolseley. It is 90% US based and has been performing well. Donald's tax cuts have helped. | broadwood |
