23/10/2019 13:28 | My apology for posting (3758) the old video (Twitter 4th Sept) as a new one. I thought it was an old video - it is. Useful reminder though. We've all been burnt in the past, Yump. I think there are a few of us with the same sentiment. | ![]() ged5
23/10/2019 13:13 | It feels to me as if the crucial thing for sales to move quickly after the pilots, is to find some way of spreading the word, without having to have 1001 meetings with different managers, trusts etc. Maybe the app will do a lot of that just by its use, sharing and novelty. That just doesn't and can't happen for most medical devices. In summary, if the pilots are good and sales don't move quite quickly, I don't know what would ! It looks like a real simple decision for the buyers. Crossed fingers a bit because of past medical investments... | ![]() yump

23/10/2019 12:17 | Well I've written to my MP:- It has come to my notice that NHS patient data could be given to Google, a foreign company. I thought you should know that included in the article I have linked, is this paragraph:- “If this is the sort of deal that [UK prime minister] Boris Johnson is going to encourage, then it’ll be catastrophic for public trust. Patients must know what is happening to their data, and be able to see exactly what sort of deals are being done to get it.” The article concludes:- And as Sir John Bell said , after penning the UK government’s review of the life sciences sector a couple of years ago: “What Google’s doing in [other sectors], we’ve got an equivalent unique position in the health space. Most of the value is the data. The worst thing we could do is give it away for free.” I came across the article doing research in a British company called Feedback plc. They have a new system out called Bleepa and used with a PACS system could hold the patient data within the hospital not going abroad. Here is a link to a short video on Twitter that demonstrates what Bleepa can do. I hope this is of use to you as a start into this matter if you care to do anything about it. I do NOT want my data going abroad. I want it held securely in the medical establishments where it is needed. | ![]() ged5

22/10/2019 16:43 | Hi Ged5 we’ve been here when TexRAD Lung was CE marked but whether by inertia or ineptitude FDBK never achieved clinical sales. Possibly the new regime will be different and TO’s update on TexRAD is eagerly awaited. The ethical investment aspect of TexRAD was what initially lead me to invest in FDBK and it would be good to see the company commercialise the product for the benefit of patients at large. Here’s hoping. | ![]() bobd29

22/10/2019 15:16 | 5.1 million CT scans in the NHS 2017-18. That's a lot of places where TexRAD/Bleepa could be used. | ![]() ged5
22/10/2019 15:03 | Haha! Noticed on LSE an article about X-Rays, which prompted me to look up some info about CT scanners. TexRAD is used for textural analysis with a CT scanner. Cheaper to use X-Rays CT scans more likely to save/prolong lives! In the UK it was reported in 2015 that there were 298 CT scanners. Still looking for an updated number. But on the NHS site I came across this:- "Your scan results won't usually be available immediately. A computer will need to process the information from your scan, which will then be analysed by a radiologist (a specialist in interpreting images of the body). After analysing the images, the radiologist will write a report and send it to the doctor who referred you for the scan so they can discuss the results with you. This normally takes a few days or weeks." Surely another reason to use Bleepa! | ![]() ged5
