01/11/2013 08:15 | If they have undertaken to pay US$ 7m for 4% of the ORRI then, if it is not merely to unblock restraints on the intended farm out, this implies that they see the NPV at around US$ 175m. Even if it is just to unblock this is a sign of material confidence in the farm out progressing | wizard2020

28/10/2013 11:39 | Wizard2020, I was really impressed. There should be lots of news flow this side of Christmas re Beetaloo. The questions I heard over canapes and drinks were based around the profile of those companies that could be interested in Beetaloo and time line of an agreement. The profiles are those of super majors and the time line is that these companies want to get started, so a deal could be struck this side of Christmas. We shall see. In Philips words: "Hess have built an $80mln hotel only to give us the keys and walk away" | aim_trader

26/10/2013 16:54 | dbranz - thanks for clarifying that. | thecynical1
26/10/2013 14:00 | There was clarification of Hess' decision. Seems that local office (Perth) said Yes. Also technical HQ (Houston) said Yes. Then corp HQ (NY) had a policy change to get out of non-US drilling projects asap so, since they weren't allowed to farm down profitably & with no advantage to FO (FO veto), the answer was No. Seems that FO had negotiated a good contract! New major farm-in likely within 3 months. | dbranz
