Experian PLC (EXPN.LN) said Friday that it has agreed to buy a 25% stake in London & Country Mortgages Ltd., a U.K. mortgage broker and adviser.

The information-services company, which provides credit-report services, didn't disclose the price it paid for the minority stake. London & Country Chairman Mike Edge will remain the majority shareholder in the company.

The two companies said the partnership is the first between a specialist mortgage adviser and an information-services company, and will improve the customer experience in the U.K. mortgage market.

Experian shares were up 9 pence, or 0.6%, to 1,566 pence at 1319 GMT.
