I did not imagine that Gutseriev sold his stake 30 minutes after he said he will not bid.Where is the Rule 8.3

he paid £2.75 so if Seneal make a bid it has to be higher than £3.77, according to the take over rules. So he could be looking at a £24 mil profit.

How much did he pay again?
If he gets a profit then i reckon i'll be happy - that's if there is an offer to everyone

Mikhail Gutseriev does not exclude the possibility of selling its stake in the company Exillon Energy

Quote.rbc.ru 11.12.2013 15:20
Businessman, the owner of "RussNeft" Mikhail Gutseriev does not exclude the possibility of selling its stake in the company Exillon Energy. He told this to reporters. "Prices jump, look, maybe - to sell. Everything will depend on the price," - said Mikhail Gutseriev, noting that if there is an advantageous offer (at a cost of shares Exillon Energy), and it can buy more package. "If cheap buy", - he said.

Yes the game continues but this is the 2nd time Gutseriev has sold. Who bought them is now the question. Gazprom? Or someone else.

I did an edit as I viewed 4349 as a more recent and very important development for the price in the morning. It is a game of chess and Gutseriev has left the game as far as I can see.
The trade of 4.5 m that reported at 16.30 on ADVFN seems to have been removed....curiouser and curiouser is it to be rebooked at a different higher price I wonder....

I may be putting 2&2 together and getting 5. These Russians just can not be trusted and Arip is also a dodgy character as it was he who kicked the whole thing off with his alleged fraud case hanging over him with Kagazy. I really do hope some un named biders come forward like lukoil Gazprom or rosneft but I would not be surprised if no bid appears. The business is worth well north of £4 and I'm sure one day this price will be achieved at some point in the future.

The current largest share holder owns 29.9% convently just below the 30% that would force them to make a bid. He could now pull out of the talks wait six months when the share price will be back to £1.50 then put a low ball £2 bid in for the remaining 70%. Most of the large orginal western share holders have sold down there holdings also at much less than the current price so I'm guessing they don't see any significant increases.
I'm staying in what ever but I have a very low average so can afford to ride it out.

I wouldnt trust the Russians either but the facts are one of them just paid $300 mil for almost 30% that tells me hes pretty serious in making a bid. But like anyone they will want it cheap as possible. Hopefully some of the other yet unknown interested parties will show there cards over the next few weeks.

Oh dear that's not good news no protection for current share holders now.

Max agree re Arip and Worldview

Don't agree re "Board calling off takeover talks". The potential purchasers haven't invested millions here just to sit on the side with perhaps a single Director. They will want to control the business and accelerate extraction rates which are relatively low compared to reserves.

I don't think the Board will want to stay either - new broom and all that plus if they have options they are usually settled as part of a buyout. The only thing stopping a buyout would be an impasse where neither of the bidders is willing to pay the asking price for the others stake.

We will soon know either way

In my opinion there will be no buy out now. Arip wanted to sell and he's out at £3.77 and can now settle his debts. Worldview also wanted out and are now gone. Board will now call off all takeover talks and carry on growing the business. Of course i hope I'm wrong.
