I wouldn’t like to be short here if/when they announce Glastonbury and a tie up with Andrew Lloyd Webber etc etc

Exactly yump, which is why in the past I have stated, investing is a risk, if it wasn't nobody would part with any shares of their company, they would just borrow and repay from the 'guaranteed' profits.

Personally I have always worked on the one out of ten basis.

JakNife - you know damm well what my real point is, your biggest gripe is, VR for live concerts is dead, money invested is wasted, no interest etc.. etc.. The point I was making about Apple and others is really related to the fact there are many people like you who will bang on about new technology/business models not being viable.

Well, with Apple there were people you did not believe PC's would be viable, get it now!!! There were many since that said iPad was not viable, etc....

You don't believe they will be successfully, fine, but most of your arguments are not relevant - and lets face it, you started out saying they had no chance before you even realised they would be marketing a service and building a catalogue and not selling headsets!

I note that as usual, when the price moves up (over 100% from its recent low) you post more frequently - well at least these days you admit to 'shorting'.

I think the key here is content. With the last announcement (which may have sent the shares into an uptrend), they demonstrated that they were not restricting this to concerts. It seems to me that they will continue to expand the areas they operate in. So sports will likely come (which will again send the shares powering north) and later, a VR movie channel. These are the things I would be doing if I were running the company so I assume that they are also imaginative with how things could progress. Perhaps a Netflix like VR company? Who knows? So judging them only on what they have now may prove to be an error. The bus I was model will likely evolve as time goes on.

HUGE market here. Just a matter of time as people begin to realise the value of VR to provide instant access to any form of entertainment in their own living room!Undoubtedly the technology and perception of the experience is developing as we speak. Now is the time to invest:)))

Some very bitter conversations in this string.
My view is simple. There is I believe a huge demand for streaming and downloading VR performance (incl sport). For example, I am holding off buying VR equipment until such a service is available. It also avoids transport expense and pollution from going to events and so hits the green button big time and event management can make more money from adding this channel. I understand that these guys are in the lead. If so, they may be the subject off a takeover.

Are some people just plain stupid ? Or is it that they can't tolerate anything that disturbs their opinion ?

All the comparisons with successful businesses are irrelevant in supporting this or any other loss-making share, because for every 1 like that, there are umpteen that went bust or lost shareholders most of their money. Plenty of examples on here.

So to be successful in an investment before its actually had a while of profitable growth, you'd need to be invested in a pile of them and then be very lucky to just have one of the big successes in there.

Its just a bucket-shop selling mentality: quote some successes and joe public might buy it based on dodgy reasoning.

Must get very boring spending your life being negative about every share.Anyway, wasted enough breath on it.

It is very clear that the same people are moving around from tech. to tech. here. Now either they've still got all the shares they bought over the last few years and are looking at an 80% portfolio drop, or they sold near the top and have moved on to 'support' the next one.

Now which one is it chaps ? and did any of you ever work for the 80's bucket shop crowd, phoning people up with 'investment opportunities' ? I think we should be told.

Impeccable reasoning.

Extrapolate the examples of the ones that flew in retrospect, to imply that its worth investing in some other random one, of which there are erm, ooh, how many ??

Ah but yumpy, you've got to be in it to win it haven't you ?

At least the lottery is called a lottery, even if people think they've got a better chance of winning than anyone else.

Jak, you wouldn't order a new car and then figure out how to pay for it.

EVR have nearly seven months to get their MC up to £220m. Do you really suppose they didn't work out how they were going to do it when this deal was being made? They have a CFO recruited from Universal no less, who is there to deal with this part of the business. And this time the hike in the share price hasn't faltered.

We were down to nearly 2.5p a month ago, almost where you said it would be. I hope you took your profit. I really do. What surprises me is that your friends at Merion are still holding out. The next few months should be fun.

Short term dips a good opportunity to add Jaknife. I look at value a decade away. You just do as your master says.

If you read the RNS Jak you will see the exercise is to be made when the market capitalisation is approximately £220 million. In other words, the MC implies the share price, not the other way round.
I won't bother to answer the rest of your post. You've said it all before.

Who knows what the real level of interest there is for VR

What we do know is that Oculus sold 5M USD of content for their brand new Quest headset in the first two weeks.

hxxps://www.roadtovr.com/oculus-5m-quest-content-first-two-weeks/
(you may need to replace the hxxps with https in order for the link to work)

The Quest headset is also on back order almost everywhere, although this could be due to lack of units being made, as much as it might be that they are selling like hotcakes.

Only time will tell.

One wonders if there's no chance of the new investor exercising his option why he bothered to negotiate for it then Jaknife? Perhaps he's not a billionaire just an idiot?Hmmm... who to believe?A billionaire or some 2bit shorters catamite....
