Have you seen this mornings RNS.

There was not a single question on the investor call at the AGM today. No one is agitating on your behalf. You are not even agitating yourself. You had the opportunity to ask the board for your money back today and - you kept quiet.

Don't be daft, the major shareholders are either the boss (Mark Furness 30%) or investors that just stumped up £30m at £2+ a share. Nothing has changed in the investment thesis, there is a structural trend towards flexible workspace, accelerated by the pandemic.

If you buy a share with a 2 week time span then you re trading and not investing, huge difference. Traders invariably loose money, even professional traders, investors less so but it does happen. You buy a share, it goes up, you think it is going higher, hold and then it drops below your buy price, stuck with it. You buy a share, it goes down, you can't sell, stuck with it. If you want to make money, you have to learn the mentality of dealing with losses more than profits, when and when not to use a stop loss and when to invest. Most importantly, have a plan, a time frame and stick to it with every trade, without that, you are going to loose money constantly.

Any deal that has a material impact on the business revenues will be RNS'd, they said they are in talks with several companies, indicating major deals, the newsflow could be constant. The spike and drop is just a reaction with an iliquid share, if you buy into illiquid shares, the spikes are larger and the drops sharper, this price action is nothing more than a small free float and herd traders following each other. If you get a deal RNS'd, you wont be able to buy in at this price. Patience and understanding the psychology is a must if you want to make money in this game.

ESYS's largest customer, Industrious, raised US$200M. recently from CBRE (22nd. February), which bodes well for its expansion plans ... in partnership with ESYS of course.

“Industrious had a number of offers to consider late last year and was approached by a lot of potential investors. In the end, partnering with CBRE just made too much sense for Industrious’ long-term plans for scalability and growth.”

Industrious has continued to expand and grow amid the pandemic, faring better than some other flexible workspace operators.

The company's pioneering focus on management agreements, which represent nearly 90% of Industrious’ portfolio, has been shown to be nicely resilient in challenging times.

Indeed Industrious believes that it has emerged as the leading flex platform moving forward.

So with flexible workspace expected to continue its rapid expansion this decade, and management agreements a strong sub-trend within this, then Industrious could potentially expand by multiples this decade.

I would estimate that Industrious probably accounts for a few £M. of ESYS's annual turnover, so Industrious expansion alone could potentially add £10M.+ to ESYS's annual revenue this decade.

Interested to see where this gets to by the time the interims & investor presentation occur on the 21/22 April... Worth pointing out that it opened at £1.87 on the 1st March which suggests £1.50+ should be easily possible with a bit of patience.

1-share orders and trades

... Abstract
1-share trades are the most common odd lot trade size, accounting for 9.62% of all odd lot transactions and 3.65% of all trades on NASDAQ in 2012. While 50.41% of 1-share trades result from broken orders, 34.89% of 1-share trades are intentional. We provide substantial evidence that traders use 1-share trades to “ping” for hidden liquidity. In particular, our results indicate that 1-share trades are disproportionately aggressive and also execute against hidden liquidity more than any other odd lot trade size. We also find a relative increase in trading immediately following a 1-share trade. Our results are in line with Clark-Joseph (2014), who suggests that traders may use small, unprofitable trades to detect information from other traders. Specifically, 1-share trades represent the minimum cash outlay necessary to trade, while simultaneously producing the smallest possible effects on a market maker's inventory, and in turn, a security's price."

From the Financial Spread Betting website:

"Q. When you see a trade go through for say 12 shares or even 1 share, what is that all about?

ShareSurely it can't be a personal investor, is it some sort of balancing act?
A: Say there are 1,100 shares available to buy on the order book. Someone buys 1,080 leaving 20 shares there on the book. The next buyer may buy 2,000 shares but the 20 shares left on the book go through as a separate buy even though the buy was for much more. In the US you actually see these separate buys on your contract note so a purchase of 200 DELL might show as 2 80s and a 40 making up the 200 that you have bought.

Also, not a lot of people know this and there is a reason why, its pretty useless information but...Crest, Bloomberg, UBS, RBS, etc. anyway, most brokers, clearers, settlement banks, data people, all buy 1 share in almost every listed company so that they automatically receive and are entitled to any corporate information. It may not be the reason for any specific purchase or sale but its one of the reasons a buy/sell of 1 share."

"Berenberg Bank set a target price of 270 GBX for the company

Posted by ABMN Staff on Mar 1st, 2022

essensys (LON:ESYS – Get Rating) had its price objective dropped by investment analysts at Berenberg Bank from GBX 345 ($4.63) to GBX 270 ($3.62) in a research note issued to investors on Tuesday, Digital Look reports. The firm presently has a “buy” rating on the stock. Berenberg Bank’s price target suggests a potential upside of 114.40% from the stock’s current price. ..."

So Berenberg has cut its target price for ESYS from 345p to 270p, i.e. a 21.7% reduction.

Whereas in comparison, ESYS has fallen from 245p at the end of February to 82.5p this weekend, a 66.3% fall.

And the upside from 245p to the old target price of 345p was 40.8%.

Whereas the upside from 82.5p to the new target price of 245p is 197%!

An interesting after hours trade on Friday, by far the biggest of the day:

Recent Share Trades for Essensys (ESYS)
Date Time Trade Prc Volume Buy/Sell Bid Ask Value
04-Mar-22 17:05:54 99.04 88,333 Unknown* 80.00 85.00 87.49k O

If it was dealt on Friday then surely it has to be a buy, probably from an institution bargain-hunting.

After all, institutions were backing ESYS in a placing in July at 285p.
