I have had these on the watch list for a year along with a couple of other small niche software houses.

Now difficult to evaluate, as revenue growth is the one thing stocks like this need to deliver. Profit warnings come in threes and there must now be some evidence of improved outlook before these can be touched again.

Trading statement

Escher Group Holdings plc (AIM: ESCH, "Escher" or "the Group"), a world-leading provider of outsourced, point of sale software to the postal industry, is providing a trading statement as a sizeable license agreement did not conclude before year end. Negotiations on this agreement are continuing into 2015.

Overall Group revenues are expected to be down 15% year-on-year and Adjusted EBITDA for the year ended 31 December 2014 will be materially below current market expectations.

Both have their advantages/disadvantages - have say I'm surprised to see such a move now and not a year or two ago, FY results unlikely to flatter as a consequence. A bit concerned by the slow take up of mobile solutions...we'll see.

Little to add, Ed. Headcount remains flat so looks as though costs are being carefully managed vs the pipeline. All eyes of course now on the conclusion of the USPS contract and looking fwd to the commencement of the UK PO tender evaluation stage (end of the year / early next, I would think).

Seem to be a growing number of mobile e-payment/loyalty solutions now hitting the market. I think some time before ESCH gain traction here and would expect to see significant sector consolidation of service providers - far too fragmented at the moment. No one seems to want to back a standard that's certainly the case in mobile payment, where there is a 'battle-royal' brewing between card payment providers and mobile operators and carriers. Could take another ~2 years or so for that to play out, so I'd expect the focus for the moment will continue to be on convenience (PoS/service options) and loyalty solutions.

Rapidly consolidating their position as the de facto sector solution to digitally enable next generation PO services:

Abdulla M. AlAshram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, said:

"Emirates Post Group is committed to achieving superior customer satisfaction. Working with Escher Group, the world leading technology providers of point of service solutions, I am confident that they will deliver solutions of the highest standards of quality and excellence. Escher implicitly understands the postal market, our unique business needs and most importantly the evolving needs of consumers worldwide."

More news to come IMHO. Much more.
