LOL, Badly wrong and horribly out of date.

That throw away opening, "Obviously selling to postal authorities isn't exactly a growth opportunity.." summed up the inadequacy of his analysis and sector understanding.

Good luck with your short Aishah... [Ouch]

Big project/programme has been kicked-off in the North East with support/leadership of Go-On-UK to get the region online. Looks to be a template for a national roll-out through 2014. Post Offices to play pivotal role with support from EE, TalkTalk, Lloyds Bank etc. Doing some background research but looks like Escher Group are very much involved...

Hey Rivaldo. Panmure's target = £4.88 and have reiterated buy recommendations repeatedly over the past 6-8 weeks. They really are the only broker that's been closely and consistently covering the story here. Earnings drop off next year IMHO is both conservative and well out of date, sure USPS will provide a significant kicker but there's plenty in the pipe besides, so IMO that'll change soon enough...

Escher's core business is in great shape and their Interactive Services division is attracting plenty of attention from both Govts and Posts globally. That P2P messaging technology which underpins their TrEx solution is one to watch this year and next etc

Hi Rivaldo, i thought Panmure had a target of 467, not aware of the Irish brokers targets. The EPS falls next year because of the upfront payments from the UPS contract and from then on it's the recurring revenues. I guess it's a symptom of investing in their technology and dealing with rapid growth.

Hi bb2, just looking in here.

I note that broker forecasts range from 20.3p to 23.6p EPS this year, but that next year they drop precipitously to 17.71p from Panmure, and just 10.7p EPS from Davy and 9.44p EPS from Goodbody.

The latter two are of course Irish brokers who probably know ESCH best of all.

All 3 forecasts are dated within the last week, so are recent.

I appreciate ESCH's income is lumpy, but even so...taking an average of the two years doesn't make ESCH particularly attractive.

Am I missing something? Why are the forecasts so low - even the most optimistic forecast from Panmure doesn't exactly get the juices flowing!

Escher Group gets Panmure stamp of approval
(c/o Proactive Investors)

14 October 1.48pm

The Royal Mail flotation has thrown the spotlight on the postal delivery, which can only be of benefit to Escher (LON:ESCH), Panmure Gordon reckons.

Escher Group, is the leading provider of distributed messaging and data management solutions to the world's postal industry. The company allows post office authorities to run their current transactions and their point of service applications (be they mail, financial, retail or government services), Panmure Gordon notes.

"More importantly Escher is leading postal clients through the digital revolution. As the ballyhoo about the Royal Mail IPO pricing abates, wise heads will look to Escher as a lead indicator of what 'good looks like' in the Postal industry," the broker argues.

The company announced last week it has agreed a revised banking facility with the Bank of Ireland, comprising a five-year term loan facility and a revolving 12-month facility for US$3mln.

Liam Church, Escher's chief executive officer, said the refinancing would assist the business in its current phase of rapid growth.

I think (and would hope) more than that Battle ;o) High time their technology was given the recognition it deserves. Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Ireland certainly do, "...the technology behind Escher Group is incredible!"

Am just catching up with the feature broadcast on RTE last night. hxxp://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10208205/

"For USPS, the largest retailer in the world, the contract was worth over $50m...our response to tender was 10,000 pages...and we delivered!"

Awards night next week - Go Escher!

All v strange, Battle, but am just pleased to see the activity! Struggle to believe the lack of interest here. Patience will be rewarded of that I am in no doubt, Escher have some cracking technology and a client list that reads like a who's-who of the global postal industry. We may well get a TU in early Dec, but I'd like a catalyst event before that! ;o)

I'm liking this drum-roll coverage from Panmure, Ed, which coincides with some interesting trading today - am convinced there's still someone buying off the bid.

I'd love to see something from the new Interactive Services / 'Riposte TrEx' side of the business. Can't see any meaningful value [in the current SP] attributed to all the hard work that's been put into that.

Time for a bit of trumpet blowing..?

it's like they read my previous comment..

The Royal Mail IPO was a story of a public asset being sold off - there was little discussion about the underlying industrial model. In the connected digital world, although we will send fewer letters (bad news, Postie!) in truth we communicate more, not less. Escher is the global leader selling software which enables Post Office Authorities to run their current transactions and their point of service applications (be they mail, financial, retail or government services). More importantly Escher is leading postal clients through the digital revolution. As the ballyhoo about the Royal Mail IPO pricing abates, wise heads will look to Escher as a lead indicator of what 'good looks like' in the Postal industry. Escher can only benefit from the increased capital markets scrutiny on this industrial segment. Buy.
