EQTEC plc

("EQTEC", the "Company" or the "Group")

Appointment of Chief Operating Officer

EQTEC plc (AIM: EQT), a world leading gasification technology solutions company for waste-to-value projects, announces that, with immediate effect, Jeffrey (Jeff) Vander Linden has been appointed to the EQTEC Board of Directors in the role of Strategy & Operations Director and Chief Operating Officer ("COO"). The newly defined role will focus on establishing project execution and business management disciplines, growing EQTEC's partner ecosystem and strengthening EQTEC's operational platform to scale its business through 2021 and beyond.

Jeff has been working with EQTEC since July 2020 in a consulting capacity, most recently as interim COO. Prior to that, he worked as a senior advisor and programme lead to global corporations transforming operations and building scale. He was the Global Director of Strategy and Demand for Global Business Services at AB InBev, the global beverage company, and was Head of Organisation Development for SABMiller Procurement. In both roles, he designed and implemented scale operations in complex delivery environments across geographical, regulatory and cultural boundaries, delivering improved performance, growth and innovation. Prior to these roles, Jeff spent 16 years as an IT and business change leader at Capgemini, IBM and PwC. His clients included NTT, NEC, AT&T, Motorola, BAE Systems and National Grid as well as a number of other private and public-sector organisations. Jeff is a dual US/UK citizen and lives in London.

Ian Pearson, Chairman of EQTEC, said: "We are delighted to welcome Jeff to the Board of EQTEC, who has already engaged closely with all of us. His experience, know-how and passion for effective and timely execution are significantly benefiting the Company's business planning and ways of working. We look forward to Jeff stretching our thinking and growing EQTEC's reach, impact and delivery excellence, which we expect will further enhance value to our business and shareholders alike."

David Palumbo, Chief Executive Officer of EQTEC, said: "It is hugely satisfying to have Jeff appointed to the Board to do what I believe he does best: design a 'future proof', resilient and dynamic organisation for scale. This, for us at EQTEC, is another clear statement of intent and his impact is already being felt by everyone on the team. The COO role is critical for EQTEC as we transition from a growing innovation leader to a high-growth, multi-market technology leader. I am happy to report that Jeff's involvement with EQTEC is significantly accelerating this transition as we position EQTEC to lead the growing gasification industry with the successful execution of projects and business plans, which, I am confident, will in turn deliver further shareholder value."

Jeff Vander Linden, Chief Operating Officer of EQTEC plc, said: "I am very excited to join a great technology company with so much capability yet to be discovered by many. Like the rest of the Board, I believe strongly in our mission and see massive global potential for EQTEC. With discipline and focus, I intend to ensure that we make the most of it. "
