31/3/2008 18:09 | There is eventually some new news on the ERT website. Posted it here as there is no rns on it. If you go to shellhutentertainmen Its well made. London March 31st 2008 - Entertainment Rights Plc ("ER") the UK's leading global media group specializing in the ownership of children's and family programming, characters and brands, announced today that it has signed worldwide distribution rights (excluding Thailand and with shared representation in Japan and Korea) for the CGI- Animated (26 x 30min) series produced by Shellhut Entertainment. The agreement sees ER acquiring worldwide rights across all forms of Television, Digital Media, Home Entertainment, Music, Licensing and Merchandising and all other media. Chloe van den Berg, Executive Director, International, Entertainment Rights Plc, commented: "We are thrilled to be working with Shellhut Entertainment and ER is unveiling Shelldon to international broadcasters for the first time at MIPTV this coming April. Shelldon is a vibrant and beautifully produced CGI show, with positive universal values that the whole family can enjoy together and the series is set to become an instant international success." van den Berg continued: "Through the Shelldon acquisition, ER is building on its successful strategy for developing third party relationships with both producers and rights owners and is a key strategic focus for the company which complements ER's growth in developing its wholly owned stable of properties." Shelldon is a lighthearted series that aims to entertain as well as educate children about marine life and creatures that live in the sea. The show is predominantly targeted at boys and girls 4-8 yrs, although through its unique blend of humor it also has broad appeal for older children and adults. The series successfully exploits engaging environmental themes which are accessible to younger kids and the overarching message sees the characters involved in making the world a better and greener place. -ENDS- | 53tom

31/3/2008 15:56 | Double figures! | phillis
30/3/2008 12:00 | Pete, nothing impressive about my research, simply google news for entertainment rights and sign up for any news alerts that come up, i then get an e-mail with the latest news. did you know that postman pat is called pete de(the) post here in holland or is your username just a coincidence | rochford6
30/3/2008 11:47 | Thanks rochford6, I can only say I am very impressed with your research, I wish I could find snippets like that..! It sounds very promising, looks like a team with a proven record is behind it, can't understand why it hasn't made it to the UK press, but maybe it will be released with the results next week..! | petepostman
30/3/2008 11:17 | Pete click this link, it takes you to a story about the disney lone ranger thing | rochford6
30/3/2008 10:38 | Interesting article in the Telegraph, sector is drifting lower and the main shareholders are unlikely to sell for less than 28p. Looks like a long haul back to that price, but much better than a 12p PE bid. can't find anything about Disney and the Lone Ranger, anyone know where its come from? | petepostman
30/3/2008 09:16 | Big article on telegraph website today. | bonio10000
29/3/2008 14:58 | maybe bbc worldwide could buy us since they have been talking to apax (hit entertainment) and want to grow to 200million profit within 5yrs. meanwhile basil is in the boro' (scarborough) that is | superglide
29/3/2008 12:07 | Shareguru/ Sy Phillis. What is an artical? Is it some kind of pony and trap? | humphbumph
29/3/2008 12:05 | Pete. Yes they should send one person and hire a hotel room. You may remember there was a public fuss some years ago about ERT in Cannes and they were asked to quantify the deals made precisely because they attended the 'market'. They failed to come up with one solitary example! | humphbumph
29/3/2008 11:51 | friday telegraph, t j hemmings sells Pontins for £46m,as quoted in artical may be this money could come in handy | theshareguru
29/3/2008 11:25 | Humphbumph, Are you seriously suggesting that ERT shouldn't make an appearance at the MIPTV event? I would be very, very concerned for the future if they weren't there..!!! | petepostman
29/3/2008 10:46 | That was exactly my point humph. Results have always been during last week of March and I believe they always give an exact date, now delayed and they just state some time during the week starting 07 April. Before xmas they stated that there was 'unprecedented' demand for their programming and no real announcements of such deals since. Perhaps the announcements happen then and they will release the results previous/same/next day. Probably just 2+2=5 but it passes the time! Away for the rest of he weekend now, have a good one. 28/3/2008 22:13 | and they are signing deal with disney for a re-make of the lone ranger, seems like business as normal. | rochford6
28/3/2008 22:09 | ERT are at MIPTV in Cannes 07-11 April with a relatively large stand. They are announcing their results during the week commencing 07 April. Is this a coincidence? | 53tom
28/3/2008 13:15 | Nice to see SVG reaffirming their intention to be in on the carve up | phillis
28/3/2008 12:40 | Bransgrove was equally culpable as Heap for the demise of ERT. Both he and the other non-executives failed in their responsibilites in recent years to oversee the actions of the executives, and Heap in particular, and demonstrate their commitment to the interest of the shareholders. In a statement dated 20th March 2006, Bransgrove said "..Such strong positioning underpins both the Company's long term prospects and its ability to continue delivering considerable value to shareholders." In his statement dated 26th March 2007, Bransgrove said "The prospects for the company continue to be excellent and we are confident of our ability to grow the business and deliver continued shareholder value." Both statements in respect to shareholder value are just pure rhetoric similar to what we had to put up with each year from Heap, a promise of jam tomorrow which never materialised. Fortunately we will be spared Heap's overhyped statement this year. By my reckoning Bransgrove is due for re-election this year. I for one will be voting against. Which makes me wonder if they cannot even fix a specific date for the results in the normal way, they are working on a deal to their mutual benefit with total disregard for the interests of the shareholders. It will be interesting to read the tone of the new CEO's statement. I share the misgivings of others who have commented on his pedigree. | highnote
28/3/2008 12:38 | I am assuming that the 20p statement is really to let potential bidders know that they are not going to be sold at rock bottom prices, but that does not mean that a close bid (say 18p or there abouts) might not be acceptable. I for one would rather get 18p or so now, with the certainty that such a offer provides, than go through many months of uncertainty in these markets for the company to be fairly priced. If, by some miracle, there is seen to be a calmimg of the credit problems and the markets during the next few weeks then we could see a better outcome. I would certainly like to see the best offer possible provided its a cash offer. A share offer would not be acceptable, unless it constituted a very small percentage. There are plenty of other opportunities that I could use cash for just now. Regards | 53tom
28/3/2008 11:24 | Yesterdays purchase by SVG looks like its still 'game on'. Bransgrove is a busy boy at the moment what with ERT, Shire Pharm in a similar position and ofcourse trying and failing to hang onto Shane Warne for Hants CC. I don't understand how he claims that nearly two months after the company's previous statement that it is still in 'very preliminary talks'. By all reports they stated a starting price of 20p, so anyone still interested is prepared to pay more than this figure. Still think the two parties are III/Chorion and Trevor Hemmings. Why delay the results to the week commencing April 7th? To give them more time to finalise the deal? Why appoint what looks to be a 'patsy' as CEO? If no appointment made then it would look like a white flag in any negotiations? | torquayturk |
