The liberals would support anything by anyone. The political system wants a complete overhaul. Just move to the US and I think it will happen, business booming in the US with a US CEO. Why stay here, get a rerate to double the share price. Dyor

Well if draftkings are stalling that could be the catalyst for
a bid from them, 1500p would be enough. Alot lower than the 2500p which
was refused, pure madness.

I have added am. The estate is fine going from -6 to - 4 to -2 with a good intro to other products. Many have been combined and have the best tech. The Ladbrokes casino app in no 1 right now in the Apple downloads William Hill have been too generous with their offers and poor risk management and highlight this is bookmaking not just a marketing game In the US the angstrom guys are starting to have impact and the iGaming revenues which had stalled are now expanding again with DraftKings now stalling and Flutter moving ahead also

Interesting to see what Gavin does to make his mark -as an American & as we were originally a digital only company -would he revert to our roots & eliminate Retail -with over 2500 shops to run & around 15k staff -low margin ,old tech ,declining as it is for other traditional bookies as even old school customers who enjoy the bookie experience will increasingly have smart phones .Appreciate that we are unlikely to find a buyer who will give us a return & the cost of closure with associated redundancies would be substantial -so perhaps our estate will just shrink naturally over the years -but then always being a drag on performance

I really was hoping the share price would pass £8 and end the year around £10. Not a demanding ask. Clearly the market is still waiting to see further evidence about the recovery and growth of row and US…
No updates until 2025, difficult to tell where the share price goes from here. Less than £5b valuation is bonkers.

Do we think that, if the Guardian claims are true, that that news is now built into the share price so if confirmed on 31 October, we should not expect another 14% drop? Conversely, if the Guardian claims are untrue, should we expect a significant increase in the share price in view of the excellent recent up-date?

Good post thank you, it appears Wheatcroft is one of only a few
with a brain and forward looking. He is one the same wave length as me.

We would be 900p now if it was not for that article written by the
shorter friend guardian journalist, disgusting.

Within a month of Gavin Isaacs being named the new CEO of Entain, the company has raised its cash-flow guidance by two percent. Jefferies Equity Research analyst James Wheatcroft welcomed both Isaacs and the fiscal news in an October 17 investor note.

Entain’s cash-flow guidance has been elevated from the midpoint of the previously announced range to its upper end. Wheatcroft said this was presaged by positive commentary from Entain during an investor update last month.

Wheatcroft reported that Entain’s online growth has accelerated to nine percent, particularly marked by a speedup in both United Kingdom and Ireland online business. Also cited was continued strength in Brazil, where Entain’s business grew 48 percent. “All key markets [are] returning to growth,” Wheatcroft added.

“We await the new CEO’s formal update around strategic direction and operating initiatives which could have the scope to move numbers and the valuation multiple,” he continued.

Wheatcroft concluded by noting that recent discussion of the profitability of BetMGM, of which Entain is a co-parent, “is at odds with an Entain valuation that appears to attach little value to Entain’s BetMGM stake.” Allowing for BetMGM, Wheatcroft said that a sum of the parts approach to Entain implied a £13 per share value.

I'd up the tax on newspapers, they don't really make anything so their costs are very low.

There's an article in The Times today, running through the various options Reeves has to raise taxes, like Employers NI, Capital Gains and so on. Not a mention of upping the fees on gaming companies.

My guess is some volatility in the run up to the budget, then either a relief rally or sanguineous slump depending on the outcome...
