Still loss making at the statutory level but that part is not their fault. The net debt figure is much better than the market expected and the small buyback program was not anticipated, at least not so soon. If oil prices hold up, the shares should advance in the coming year as long as Labour do not make the situation worse, necessitating more write-downs and higher tax payments. With base rates falling to 3% by year end, the shares could actually go up from here, albeit only a little. JMV. AIMO. DYOR

I do not disagree in 2-3 years will be a good company if oil and gas move higher but reality is financials are getting worse currently

s34 - you missed out higher average price of Brent this year compared with 2023 and production forecast currently at higher end of forecast. Stockhunter needs to look at the wider picture - good set of results only mared by continuation of EPL and uncertainty caused by politicians interference with NS O&G.

Bought a load recently, looking forward to steady rise and lots of news.

Debt reducing by 236 million a year.End of feb 408 million .That's 21 months to debt free ! Don't forget the saving on finance charges ! 1.5 bn repaid in last seven years !Kraken lease fpso down 70 percent next year Brings in ? 100 million ?Interest savings ? In 21 months time they won't be paying debt back !!!! They will be increasing the buy backs and paying divs !I would say the divs will start this time next year !

FWIW, can only see 2 800k "sells" on the LSE site, both at exactly the same time and price, suggesting the possibility of a rollover or transfer between accounts. Sometimes may be arranged that way for a fixed broker's fee. The 3rd 800k, showing on advfn at the 11:29, so one may be a cancelled trade which might show up as such later.



edit: the 3rd on advfn also at identical price as the pair.

Expecting / hoping for a run up in the shareprice into next weeks results.

Optimistic on 2024 FY numbers & outlook as well.

Enquest have made huge strides over the past five or so years.

The doubts analysts had about Kraken reliability have been completely unfounded.

The management of Enquest are really first class.

A small divi would be nice short-term but think a share buy back would be more beneficial to shareholders longer-term.
