Not sure I see where you're coming from with the double top argument, but I would agree that the price is in an interesting place. Take a look at the weekly chart. A close above 71.6 could well have the price rising to 80/85 as stated in one of the pieces posted recently here. A drop below (close on the weekly)the rising tl support currently at 68.5, might presage more substantial falls. Just have to wait and see for the moment. The weekly chart is currently just about holding onto an uptrend. But some of my MA's are starting to cross each other to the downside which suggests it would be wise to keep a close eye on POO in the coming weeks.

If Libya goes bang this will look like the bottom. You can't purely trade oil based on technicals because unlike companies to a large degree it's hugely driven by geo political sentiment. You can't chart that.

There is a good chance that the recent rise on the Oil price could be a double top for the moment being on the Chart.
A drop to around $68 support would be very good for the future rise.

Glad it happens as I said late yesterday, currently, Brent is at the price it drops from $71.40, as the chart shows.
