05/5/2003 08:50 | 'T' If reporting a single protected transaction. - See trades this website :- You can find glossary of terms in help menu, under trade types... "A protected transaction occurs when a large order is going through the market. The buyer (or seller) may wish to keep the order anonymous from the rest of the market as the size of the order could greatly alter the price of the stock. With a protected transaction, the dealer will put the trade through in small quantities (This is were we are at the moment) rather than knock the whole order out in one hit. The entire transaction is reported once the deal is completed. The LSE is notified at the start and at the end of the transaction. However, the market as a whole isn't told until the end, thus the order is protected." -Not a protected trade after the last holiding in company dislosure, demonstrating a new deal. The 1m are shown as protected, which means that it is highly likey the trade happended earlier, as there have been previous "T" trades and we have yet to be informed that the transaction has concluded (Assuming large player - Holding in company is triggered) but due to our stange market workings in the UK, the market maker is not obliged to report (like most other trades), straight away. This seriously disadvantages the smaller trader as most would agree, although at times does give more comfort as to what's going on, as is the case here. In short there is a big trade yet to finnish on the buy side, as a holding in company was disclosed, then a further T trade went through (mark the mid price), then another, my guess is, it's a buy. The price will almost certainly tick-up first thing Tuesday and so on, to try to get the best price for their client whilst weed out some sellers (Notice ratio of buy to sell), the price the deal goes throught at is an average of what was paid, being carefully managed. Good luck Chainsaw, see you later in the week for some serious profit, this stock is being kept down for a big player, but the game is a foot now. | the dart
05/5/2003 08:05 | just posting this - clearly indicates growing volume on this stock since beginning of year | gardenboy
05/5/2003 07:44 | Moving along quite nicely up to the account thought there would have been more action on the board | mykai
04/5/2003 15:26 | Ta Dart. How does one get info' to work out these trades as buys and protected ? The tradees certainly seem to be the bigger fish at present, and Im happy this is the case at present - no 'pump and dump' as it were. BB pretty quiet though, and I appreciate your comments and time since you,ve obviously researcged ENO more than me. I bought about 32,000 at 32p and another 40,000 at 34p. So nicely in paper profit and expecting a maintainble incraese ahead. | chiansaw
04/5/2003 10:34 | Hi Chainsaw, The 1m trades are BUYS that are protected, could be Duetche Bank or some other big player, deal done perhaps a few days ago, now MM's selling to 'Big player', or a buy from our point of view, however ADFVN system incorrectly shows as a sell. Only thing worth focusing on, is volume of trades, price movement in this case up, and ordinary transactions which unfortunatly have less of an impact on the price. On things for sure, lots of big buys to come....... | the dart
03/5/2003 23:29 | Nice Thread Dart. Roll on 8th May. By the way have you noticed series of 1mill T traded sells at end of day recently. Any ideas whta they are - I thought Shorts ? | chiansaw
02/5/2003 10:59 | Interesting to see a MM Buy go through. | chiansaw
02/5/2003 06:16 | Expect small rise in Q2 results against Q1 (Not that hard from zero !, but strong forward looking statement, the outcome for the shares, well with Barclays out of the picture the only way is up from these low levels. A undemanding rating would leave the shares at 70pence or so on forward earnings, the current 36pence refelcts Barclays fire selling, well they ain't got too many now, and they are willing to sell balance at under 40pence there is more than enough demand today to cover that, after that with all other big players staying put the MM's will tick the stock, as supply/demand plays out it's role. It's our moment Enodis holders, actually strike that, it's a long strong bull run for this share to double your money simple as that, hold on for a few months at least with an overweight position that is, rather than a few weeks. Obviously I don't rule out the spectcular on the 8th, but with unpredicatble demand for this stock it could take longer, highly unlikey to get any cheaper than this though, will just keep goin up in my view. Good luck all | the dart
