Engie: the group's rating under negative watch at S&P

(Boursier.com) - The financial rating agency Standard & Poor's placed on Wednesday with negative implication the credit rating "A- / A-1" long and short term of Engie in a context of epidemic of coronavirus, reduction in financial room for maneuver, and against the background of a change in group governance.

This surveillance means that S&P plans to downgrade the credit rating of the French energy group.

Given the likely slowdown in the European economy linked to Covid-19, S&P estimates that the energy group's profits will be put under pressure by a less significant contribution from its Customer Solutions activity, the most cyclical, and by lower prices. energy against which the group is not covered from 2021.

The financial room for maneuver was reduced by numerous acquisitions in 2019 and by an upward revision of the provisions of the nuclear branch of Engie.

S&P also highlights the uncertainties concerning the group's strategy and organization, in the context of the search for a new leader, after the departure in February of Isabelle Kocher.

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regulatory News:

ENGIE EPS (Paris:EPS):

2019 revenues up 29% versus last year; pipeline up 127%, but Project Backlog decreasing by 18% compared to the 2018 backlog update of June 2019.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is impacting both the industrial operations of ENGIE EPS and its short-term business prospects and it is still too early to assess its full impact.
As the situation continues to unfold, the primary concern of ENGIE EPS remains the health of our employees and their families.
ENGIE EPS has decided not to confirm its 2020 revenue guidance announced in June 2019 and, given the current highly volatile circumstances, cannot commit to an alternative 2020 target. As for the 2022 revenue target also announced in June 2019, ENGIE EPS will update if necessary this guidance once the COVID-19 situation has been overcome.
ENGIE EPS, together with ENGIE as its majority shareholder and industrial partner, remains committed to the implementation of the Long Term Strategic Plan.

Societe Generale raised its recommendation on GTT from HOLD to BUY and kept its target price of 79 euros.

The broker made this decision because of the 50% loss in the stock. After a net cash position of 169 million euros, a record order book (708 million, or 2.5 years of turnover), a low execution risk and a limited exposure to oil prices, GTT enjoys the most solid fundamentals of its cover universe, explains the design office.

The latter recalls that he recently raised his medium-term forecasts. He further estimates that demand for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) could offer a good surprise in 2021-2022.
