02/4/2002 10:42 | Shell needs the acareage to top up its dwindling reserves in the north sea. At 725p/share they are getting a bargain in Enterprise and with Shells massive war chest, they could easily top another bidder. There could be more to come! I wont be selling my holding with the distinct possibility of another operator upping the stakes. Good luck. regards raej | raej
02/4/2002 08:49 | myomy... will hold current levels unless Shell pull out which seems highly unlikely, can go higher on further bid speculation, general demand for oil stocks, higher oil prices, further escalation of Middle East conflict etc. I'm long and will close out if I don't see any further action over next few weeks. | 365
02/4/2002 08:38 | I'm long from 6.34 but cannot see the point in closing it yet, if no other bidder to emerge surely it will keep this value, currently 7.18, if another does appear the only way is up. Please confirm that this point of view is correct I've got an itchy sell finger! | myomy

18/3/2002 19:25 | "OSLO (AFX) - Statoil ASA said it has sent a joint application for new awards in Norway's 17th offshore licensing round together with Enterprise Oil plc and Royal Dutch/Shell by today's deadline. Thirty-two blocks in the Norwegian Sea have been put up for offer, covering both deepwater areas and acreage nearer to land around Statoil's Norne field. Statoil said it has only applied for deepwater blocks on this occasion. Plans call for awards to be made in the summer. This is the first time that the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has allowed groups of companies to submit joint applications for Norwegian Sea blocks. The three companies concluded a "deepwater alliance" in 2001 covering long-term collaboration in this part of the Norwegian continental shelf." | bionicdog

18/3/2002 07:31 | LONDON (AFX) 17/03/02- A spokeswoman for Statoil ASA in Norway declined to comment on a report in The Business that the group is studying a possible bid for Enterprise Oil PLC. "We do not, on principle, comment on such reports," she said, when asked about the report which claims that the oil and gas company has identified major benefits from merging its North Sea production assets and Central Asian exploration projects with those owned by Enterprise. | the brewer
