The 3k buy was mine this morning, I topped up before the trading statement after selling my holding in TCM yesterday.

I'm not surprised that I pushed the price up, I tried yesterday and this morning to buy inside the spread, but had to pay the full asking price. It wouldn't take much more buying to push the share price up further.

Geographical spread, particularly Germany and emerging markets caught my eye...

Cheers GHF.

Welcome steg, hope you've done the right thing. I hold STAF too, it has more to go but maybe..maybe..EMR might move a bit sooner. Medium term I think both are .

Cashed in a few STAF and put it into this.

Spread the risk a bit.

Well it's a shame Robbie overlooks v small caps, because HVN is trading at a fwrd P.E of 9 this is 4.5 so if HVN is undervalued?. I personally wouldn't touch hydrogen with a barge poll (If you pardon the pun).

This was on my end of yr watch list but I don't think I will hang around for too much longer.

Note HVN rising strongly last few days and Naked Trader bought into them yesterday saying they were undervalued against their peers. STHR will release prelims same day as EMR update, expect their outlook to be strong too.

Thanks Jeff H.

Wouldn't be surprised to see trading volumes rise in anticipation of the trading statement. Excellent value IMHO.

Nice. There was a bit in the ST about Singapore, George Soros's old partner is moving there to live, stable govt, strong economy. Update getting closer, still seem to be under the radar.

The German economy grew by 3.6% last year, according to provisional figures from the federal statistical office. GDP grew at its fastest pace since reunification in 1990. The German economy shrank by 4.7% in 2009 - the worst contraction since the end of the Second World War. Story provided by StockMarketWire.com

Ic2, agree I don't think there's much doubt the update will be positive, can't say how much the market will respond, recent positives from Hays, RWA and MPI haven't done much for their shares but then their PERs were already pumped up. EMR is still very modestly valued, if we get a repeat of those lovely words 'significantly ahead of....' 'further debt reduction..' and a positive outlook I think a re-rating has to happen.

Couldn't buy over 1k online today, matched trades only, I tried to add earlier. I remember STAF going tight like this last year.

Hydrogen hydg, released a trading statement today, which is well worth a read because it shows how the recruitment sector is becoming stronger in all countries. Should indicate what we have to look forward to on 31st January.

When I come across an interesting company, I start to write up all the fundamental info, and read all statements and RNS releases. Very often I become less enthusiastic and decide not to buy or wait for the next results.

But with EMR I found the more I read the stronger my conviction became, and was very happy to buy @ 55p, and will certainly increase my holding. The geographic spread is strong with Germany the engine of growth in Europe, and are in a great position in all of the important emerging regions.

Undervalued imv and would expect a very rapid re-rating, which could be after the forthcoming trading statement.

ic2 - Good to see you and yet another stock we share.

I've taken my STAF off the table and EMR has been the major beneficiary. Both Europe and RoW will account for c.70% turnover following recent growth experienced. Cashflow strong and earnings recovering for single digit PER that I believe will highlight the value of EMR to the market.

Yep, like these a lot and expect a strong trading update on Mon 31st Jan when I think they will indicate that they are either at the top end of the revised (higher) forecasts if not actually ahead again.

Good to see you here, IC2!

(o/t: I'd be interested in your thoughts on SKYW if you get time to take a look. It was also highlighted on the ZULU thread. I have been buying in since, as very impressed with what I learned during my follow-up research. Perhaps post any reply on the Zulu thread).

Brought in today for the first time.

Thanks to cfro for highlighting these on the Zulu thread, as I was investigating this morning it became very clear that I had to buy in. I missed out on STAF, but I believe 2011 could see EMR catch up starting with the trading update on 31st January.

Pleased to see some well respected poster here.

HAYS reported today, the whole group is doing well I especially liked GERMANY is increasing very strongly, increasingly confident for end Jan.

From their statement -
''....The outlook remains good across nearly all of our markets, including the UK private sector, and we continue to increase consultant headcount in order to capture the opportunities for growth.''

Spread has improved, i bought another £1000's worth today @52p so not a bad price. ought a tiny few over the christmas hols too. Im quietly accumulating here. EMR remains quiet for the time being but will surely come to life soon imo. I think there might be a trading update due soon, but not too sure ?

I tried for a few more during the last couple of days but broker unable to obtain the quanity I was looking at sub 54p....although I see that 49k went through at 53p today. Looks like 2011 may herald a new broker for me.

Having said that I noticed online that price quoted was at the full offer. Horrible spread that I'm certainly not entertaining.

Best wishes to all investors for 2011.
