New buy note out today from Arden. Suggest 50% upside from these levels.

EMR hit 158p ( highest price paid) in Feb and has been disappointing since, failing to find support at 140p then 130p.

Shares mag extract;
Earnings quality should improve thanks to recent investments. Last summer it bought New Zealand-based Rishworth which places pilots in jobs with commercial airlines, typically on three to five year contracts. Recruiters normally pay their candidates’ salaries before they get paid by clients, thereby requiring a pot of cash to cover these outgoings which is known as ‘working capital’. Empresaria says it normally gets paid 50 days later.

The situation is different with Rishworth. Airlines either pay the pilot salary costs to the recruiter in advance or within a short period. That is positive for the group’s working capital.

Empresaria also bought an IT recruitment business last year which sources talented people for jobs on innovative technology projects. Candidates are in high demand, so salaries can be fairly decent. This, in turn, generates a good chunk of commission for Empresaria.

Don’t worry about a large jump in net debt during 2016. That’s principally down to the acquisitions. It is a cash generative business and it says debt will quickly come down over the next few years.

fair enough, but with deflationary worries in the EU abating from latest stats it may be that there is a brief opportunity for EMR to make some hay there as well as UK etc, so think this sell is overdone IMO and will be interesting to see if buyers snap this dip up....but a profit is a profit PJ so well done! It is not a realised profit until you sell!

After a fantastic run over a number of years I have (somewhat reluctantly)taken profits this morning. I expect to be back at some point.

All the best to those still holding

NFI up 20%, divi +15%. These should be trading nearer 200p imo.

I thought the move up was not warranted. The numbers were if anything slightly disappointing to me as they had flagged "slightly above" in the TU and I see these as slightly behind. Given the massive currency tailwind in H2 it is only ok. Not a seller at this price at the moment but I don't see the further 50% upside that the broker sees from here. 2017 EPS number is 14.3p.

From the way the price is moving it looks like there is quite a bit of doubt about the results. Still early in the day though and prices are often jumpy first thing. Long term holder of this.

If that pre market mark up lasts I would be whacking it all over the place unless I was a long long term investor IMO.

Agreed, pretty upbeat and with any business in this sector, hopefully the operational leverage will be marked.....outlook was robust IMO/DYOR: "We continue to see exciting growth opportunities to develop our Group and deliver increased profits and we look to 2017 with confidence."

Nice price movement today. May see some more rises up until results on 1st. Still plenty left in the tank here given how robustly they are trading.

Multi-brand strategy paying off for Empresaria
13:45 24 Jan 2017
Double-digit earnings growth has become the norm at the recruitment group, even in a sometimes tricky 2016

Arden have upped 2016 eps by 4%:

The trading update confirms another year of double digit earnings growth for Empresaria. We anticipate acceleration in growth rates in FY17 reflecting organic growth, acquisition contribution and FX tailwinds; Arden forecast FY17 earnings growth of 24%. We believe this is not reflected in a FY17 valuation of 8.4x, with the relationship to growth expressed in a Price Earnings Growth ratio of 0.35x. The valuation is inconsistent with current trading, geographical alignment and delivery of the strategy to acquire niche growth businesses such as Rishworth and ConSol, which are fundamentally improving the quality of earnings at Empresaria. The shares represent a conviction Buy.

Earlier indications were of a very substantial uplift. Ironically therefore these might disappoint. Still going to be on a historic multiple of less than 10

How much of the 'ahead' results is due to favourable currency translation?
I'd say quite key to understanding underlying business performance,...
