Skipping through the posts on LSE there is one recent post (almost buried!) that sums up my thoughts re processing. In essence (my interpretation) the poster says don’t confuse unique mineral assemblage with a requirement for unique processing technology. In other words gravity separation and acid leaching processes are well established but they always have to be tailored to meet the composition of the feedstock. In EEE’s case we know that they don’t need to crush the rock so we start with that advantage. But in essence this is why SB and team are confident enough to state that this is a question of when, and not if, they will establish a successful processing route. The material is made up of ‘ non refractory’ elements meaning that they are not resistant to change. Therefore existing technology will separate out the Ti.
