24/11/2009 08:07 | cfc, where's sinochem when you need them? | 264091
24/11/2009 05:26 | cranes into water. (I'm sure you'll all have seen these photos before, but never mind, they're a classic of their kind) | pendragon2
24/11/2009 00:22 | captain: can't find one via Google... bob PS my friend's new 60x12 widebeam was being lowered into the canal, the crane driver suddenly shouted "it's over my weight limit!" and had to let it go, it kind of bounced off a girder and into the water...it displaced over 30 tons of water in about a second, and the narrrowboat on the other side of the canal jumped two feet up in the air! The people on board were rather surprised... | bobobob5
23/11/2009 18:10 | 264091 good luck with HOIL. Edit by the way Tony Buckingham is quiet well know in my neck of the woods we share a premises with a company called Heritage xxxxxx I wonder if there is any connection........ | captainfatcat
23/11/2009 10:21 | ah well. New company, but same old sell on the news story! I'm used to that of course. | 264091
22/11/2009 00:59 | HOIL may be the right EEN replacement for my ISA after all. If the £1 a share adds approx. 20%, that would turn my £7.50 into a tenner, and still Kurdistan to explore. But let's watch see if it hatches. | 264091
18/11/2009 18:11 | bob, fair point, and my thinking has always been (and the bet), that they get taken out by Sinochem. If I get 35% then I'll be happy. If not, well I'm hoping syria keeps on flowing and if they dont spend a lot then the cash in the bank for them will keep increasing. | utrecht_00
18/11/2009 17:00 | utrecht: what worries me is the view that the two former directors take...they know miles more than I do, and they have not been happy for ages. Initially I dismissed it as some sort of personal issue...now I'm not so sure. I was told that some $50m cash was offered for the GoM assets last year, and was refused; that's a bad call imo. Maybe Sinochem will prove the ideal business partner...but maybe it won't. How can we know? Maybe it will rise 35% in 12 months...but prima facie that would only take it to the rumoured offer level from Sinochem earlier this year, which was rejected. btw Kiwi has a good point. bob imho DYOR etc | bobobob5
18/11/2009 16:14 | Depends on the explo drill results imho. And whatever secrets the 3-D seismic holds. | 7kiwi
18/11/2009 15:53 | Bob, i didnt say $150mm froma right issue. I said use their cash int he bank as well. That would mean a rights issue of around $90mm on a market cap of around $450mm. Thats a 205 rights issue. Which would easily be doable. Also in a few more months the cash portion they have in the bank will be nearer to $100mm. I'm not looking for a multi bagger on this one , just 35%. You dont think I'll get it in the next year? | utrecht_00
18/11/2009 15:34 | diesel: I had a 3x bagger on GPX (imo a disppointing performance from a company which promised so much) before I decided to bite the bullet and re-invest the money elsewhere. As for MXP, I have not sold a single share...and I expect them to multibag from the current level; I posted detailed "risked" valuations on the thread ages ago...all the Max volumetrics are out there in the public domain (apart from those which are still being worked on by their specialists). SOLO? I'm simply following David Lenigas on that one! SEY? I had been waiting for years to follow AB and Waterford on their next voyage...so I bought as soon as I heard about the deal...and have been buying more ever since. There are some estimated figures for Sangaw, see my post on its thread following yesterday's presentation. utrecht: $250m is a small sum for Sinochem. You say Gulfsands can easily find $150m via a Rights Issue? Hmmmm...I wasn't aware that the Tooth Fairy was a shareholder! Look, if I thought GPX would multibag from here I wouldn't have sold them. Their focus on Iraq has imo proven unsound...I'm not criticising their board, I'm simply saying that Iraq is not working out the way that the Americans etc thought it would. imho DYOR etc | bobobob5
18/11/2009 00:01 | thanks guys, that's a very unequivocal breakout. I'll see what I can get tomorrow (later). | 264091
17/11/2009 23:18 | 264 agree with kiwi an early bird will catch the worm. | captainfatcat
17/11/2009 22:01 | 264, there's still time; but IAE appears to be breaking out in Canada tonight. | 7kiwi
17/11/2009 21:57 | HOIL is a pitiful bb currently, probly should've gone to IAE. | 264091
17/11/2009 18:08 | I agree to agree. IAE bb a delight to read and make use of ISA monies! | tracker
17/11/2009 17:55 | I agree also, those chap are very clued up on the IAE bb. | captainfatcat
17/11/2009 13:25 | utrecht: Quite correct. My mum is Danish. Are you Dutch? I think you will have to put Kiwi out of his misery and reveal your previous moniker. 7Kiwi: Yes I am still me. Seen a few names from the EEN board over on IAE, which is turning out to be a very informative bb. Lets hope the fortunes of the company are equally good as EEN and that they don't get taken out too early ;-) Cheers, Niels | nielsc
17/11/2009 13:17 | why not look at AMER, who have released some good news regarding the well drilled in there fenix field. there have been shows of oil all the way down and are currently testing. could potentially be a company maker!! DYOR | tommygriff
13/11/2009 18:26 | bob, sinochem will never invest $250mm into capex and you know it. Bear in mind though, that GPX with a minor rights issue a la SEY, and their cash could easily fund $150mm. More than any of your 10X baggers.... EEN might have had geologists on the job but they were in the passenger seat for sure. Its no accident AG ran to SEY, so quickly. I guess if you dont hold Gpx you dont care but I do and while not a 2X bagger has a lot of value- Its pumping oil, has no debt and cash in the bank. Your better safe investment with a good chance of a 35% return is? | utrecht_00
13/11/2009 17:06 | Bob, I see your still here writing some classics...you never invest in anything less than a 10x bagger. So GPX, at what price did you invest as I recall you recently sold out, likewise Max and as for Solo, Sterling etc how do you calculate these potential growth figures, I thought you were just following the management.... We did well out of EEN and this thread provided some good solid reading but lets keep things in proportion, most of us will not see many multiple baggers, and if they are honest they will have some big failures along the way. | diesel |
