02/10/2015 16:33 | Another blue-chip bargain is Electrocomponents (LSE: ECM). The engineering products distributor today released a slightly disappointing update which shows that the performance of its business has been mixed in recent weeks. While Continental Europe has posted revenue growth in the double-digits, its operations in North America have been somewhat subdued. As such, its revenue growth for the first half of the year is just 4%, with it falling from 5% in the first quarter of the year to 3% in the second quarter. However, with a review of the business due to be completed in November, now could be a good time to buy a slice of the business ahead of a potentially refreshed strategy. And, with Electrocomponents trading on a PEG ratio of just 1.2 and yielding 6.7%, its shares appear to be a strong buy for long term investors. | bugle4
02/10/2015 16:19 | Analysts at Numis Kept their Buy rating for Electrocomponents (LON:ECM). The Price Target is GBX 260 Electrocomponents (LON:ECM) Rating Reconfirmed In a report issued to clients on Thursday morning, Electrocomponents (LON:ECM) stock had its Buy Rating maintained by equity research analysts at Numis. They currently have a GBX 260 price target on firm. Numis’s target would suggest a potential upside of 43.25% from the company’s previous close. LON:ECM is now trading | bugle4
02/10/2015 07:44 | Marked slowdown was predictable following PFL dividend now must be at rsisk. | simon templar qc
17/9/2015 16:51 | Thanks. I think they will cut the dividend yoyo. If I was u I would go for PFL similar profits but a lot safer bet and lower pe. If a bid doesn't come for PFL shares still too cheap. | simon templar qc
17/9/2015 16:46 | Good call Simon | yoyoy
17/9/2015 07:46 | PFL its competitor cuts dividend 40% on fall in profits I suspect ECM may do the same. | simon templar qc
04/8/2015 18:59 | Forget it if I was you the last time I read some news on the company the suggestion was the dividend would be cut. Higher the yield higher the risk. | simon templar qc
04/8/2015 14:45 | I have been looking at this list of high yields and apart from stocks ruled right out for one reason or another, nearly all the rest have unattractive charts (i.e. it's a bit late). This is the exception - I think I'll put some accumulated dividends here. | grahamite2
30/6/2015 12:00 | According to latest notes or comments dividend taking most the free cash flow. That is unsustainable longer term. I don't hold but been looking at the company and not inclined to invest until things improve. The European uncertainty could exacerbate the situation here. | simon templar qc
03/6/2015 16:28 | Sold out today. Forward PE of 18 looks stretched for a company that seems to be going nowhere fast. Only the yield seems to be lending support to the share price. One to watch until things improve. | lord gnome
21/5/2015 16:17 | Not really. I looked at both ECM and PFL before I bought and chose ECM. Looks like I failed to pick the winner in the two-horse race. | lord gnome
21/5/2015 14:30 | Any ideas why PFL appears to be immune and has not followed ECM - does it make it a possible short? | toffeeman
21/5/2015 08:21 | Oops! Not a good set of numbers. Thank goodness for the decent yield. | lord gnome
02/4/2015 19:59 | I have been watching this one and you are correct the market doesn't seem to like it. I am going to watch it for a while and hopefully judge the entry point correctly. | swsmith20
02/4/2015 19:32 | Not a single post in almost a month and no posts today despite a trading statement. Market clearly unimpressed. I thought it didn't read too badly. Nothing to get excited about however. | lord gnome
04/3/2015 11:15 | Peel Hunt have just upgraded ECM to a 'Buy'. No target price given, but I guess they were doing the recent buying to get their clients in ahead of the upgrade notice. | lord gnome
03/3/2015 16:57 | Yes I noticed that. With 439,800,784. total share in ECM that is less than 0.011%, even 150,000 is only about 0.034% of total shares; a drop in the ocean. I thought something else might be going on; we'll see how long this keeps up. | laffin
03/3/2015 15:31 | Peter Johnson, Chairman, bought 50,000 shares in the company on the 2nd March 2015 at a price of 230.15p. The Director now holds 150,000 shares. | alared
03/3/2015 13:42 | Any one know why? 7p yesterday, 8p today so far no apparent news. | laffin
03/3/2015 10:05 | Still a 5% yield but it's difficult to make yourself buy after a 15% near vertical rise! | grahamite2
02/3/2015 10:13 | Motoring along quite nicely now. | lord gnome
24/2/2015 14:49 | Finally decided to join you today. I've been dithering as to whether to go for this or PFL and finally decided on ECM. While I've been dithering the price has gone from 202p to 222p. A very costly dither! | lord gnome
05/2/2015 09:54 | PFL smashed, ECM doesn't appear to have the bad news in it yet | envirovision
17/12/2014 08:45 | Looks a worthwhile part of an income portfolio. | grahamite2 |
