01/4/2012 10:14 | the 4th quarter comparator is more revealing: In the final quarter Group sales growth will be around 1%, with the International business growing by around 2% and the UK flat. Within the International business Continental Europe sales will grow by around 2%, North America by around 1% and Asia Pacific by around 2%. Thus future YOY growth is likely to be pegged at 1-2% rather than the 7% for the current year as the recovery phase is now over and the comparator periods become more demanding. | sleveen
30/3/2012 21:39 | nice trading statement. Record revenues. Forward P/E 13.1, yield 4.7%. This should motor higher from here. Nice quiet board too, means it is a quality stock. | deadly
16/3/2012 18:28 | Are official distributor of the Raspberry Pi Linux pc and are taking orders for them. A good additional source of revenue? | packman8
10/2/2012 11:23 | I`m no chartist either but ECM has only broken through the 300p barrier once in the last 12 YEARS and only then briefly. I would say any price near that this year would be a good time to bail out. | alared
09/2/2012 08:47 | Well I'm no Chartist , but on the ones I do keep it looks like we've got one of those "Golden Cross" thingys - the 15EMA has crossed over the 200EMA on the way up. Charts looking good however you try to interpret them. | tommy51
03/2/2012 14:04 | etome You're seeing profit taking after a 20% (ish) gain over the last few weeks. Nowt to worry about. | electronica
03/2/2012 13:10 | Why the share price keeps falling? Got any analyst comment regarding the IMS? | etome
03/2/2012 08:24 | Yep, I likeed the TS. Online sales is the key for the future nd these continue strongly. Website is the industry best now IMO, and as I've said before that allows for greater margin than competition. This is one industry where the online sale is not about the price. Speed is the essence. Oversold. | thorpematt
03/2/2012 07:50 | yep, looks reasonable given what is going on in the general market and should underpin the divi payments , but who knows how markets will react. | tommy51
03/2/2012 07:47 | Solid statement there, good strong company indeed. Happy to hold. | shammytime
02/2/2012 21:17 | alared Don't be too hard on these guys. The restrucuring is almost over & as a supplier to RS I'm seeing some pretty good growth signs from ECM. Hang on for a 5% yield (even after this last week) & a probable 40% capital growth over the next 12 months - a reversion to previous ratings is overdue. | electronica
02/2/2012 18:07 | ECM is usually linked to Farnell, who have also shown some improvement this last few days. Don`t get too excited by ECM, I`ve been disappointed too many times. Clearly a good statement due tomorrow. Getting to 275 would be great -------- so I could ditch them FOREVER. | alared
02/2/2012 11:39 | Strong chance that this will break through 240 today/tomorrow. If it does, then there's nothing stopping it from hitting 275 very quickly. Interesting times indeed... | shammytime
02/2/2012 09:37 | This is looking very strong indeed. It does look as though something may have leaked - a return to 270+ isn't out of the question based on this momentum and anticipation | shammytime
01/2/2012 19:03 | Anybody else issued statements this week - in the past ECM has been hit when similar companies make poor statements, so maybe somebody else is doing well. | tommy51
01/2/2012 18:07 | Interim statement out this Friday, someones leaked something? | alared
01/2/2012 10:21 | This is looking good for a return to 250+ | shammytime
23/1/2012 15:20 | Looks like the chart pattern has made a decisive breakout. | lefrene
03/1/2012 17:57 | Heck of a jump on small volume. I feel that it has been cheap for weeks for a good business run in a very professional manner for decades. I'm holding for the divi and capital growth. | lefrene
03/1/2012 17:33 | Well, a nice start to the year . Is there news I've missed somewhere or markets just catching up on an undervalued stock paying a good divi ? | tommy51
14/12/2011 15:12 | Has that 180p look about it again. | lefrene
07/12/2011 10:52 | x divi today | tom111
14/11/2011 12:02 | The growth is larger with foreign earnings in Asia where GDP looks likely to keep growing above 7%. ECM is a very well run business that thoroughly understands what it's at, and that re-invests in its operations. In times like these, a steady growing business with a strong balance sheet and paying a decent divi, is something of a rare beast. | lefrene
14/11/2011 08:15 | CURRENT TRADING AND OUTLOOK In October, Group sales growth was similar to September at 5% with the International business growing at 6% and the UK at 2%. Within International, Continental Europe has grown by 5%, North America by 5% and Asia Pacific by 11%. IMHO ECM are now experiencing normal growth rates (ie linked to GDP)rather than the much higher recovery growth rates. However, ECM is a good long term growth story and on my watch list.
