19/9/2005 14:45 | Hello AOOO. Nice to see you too. I would like to thank you for the ECM tip back in June. I've traded a couple of times since and am now fully invested in it. 260 seems to be good support from my untrained eyes. By the way, are there any other interesting shares popping out of your little gadget? Did you go for BAA? | tokyogirl
19/9/2005 14:28 | I thought I saw it on the site. | gulliverr
19/9/2005 12:24 | gulliverr, how do you know sep 28? its not on the website .......... have you seen the calculations by BOTMAN BEGINS earlier in this thread? very interesting | botman2
19/9/2005 12:09 | I believe it is Sept 28. Company must be confident if they plan to maintain high divi for three years. | gulliverr
19/9/2005 12:03 | Agree with both points of view. It's ok to hold for the dividend or trade for the swings. My type of share. | gulliverr
19/9/2005 10:34 | Will be very interesting to see how the figures compare to July AGM and PFL's dire numbers. If the figures are no worse than AGM then surely share price goes up? | botman begins
19/9/2005 10:13 | no. but last year was sep 21, year before sep 23. | botman2
19/9/2005 10:07 | could be, they are funny creatures ;-) ps- any idea when this trading statement is released? | botman begins
19/9/2005 09:06 | Good to see you over here as well, TokyoGirl. Have been trading these recently - but am expecting another 'shock' of some kind or another and a further buying opportunity to arise. What do your charts say? My view is that there is nor much downside (so OK to hold if things go wrong)from here but could be plenty of upside - or more likely a lot of wobbles which makes for some nice trading chances. | a0002577
19/9/2005 09:00 | The company's bottom line was buffeted by the rise in the US dollar previously. Now the exchange rate has been steady, sales should have risen. Keep my fingers crossed. | tokyogirl
19/9/2005 08:53 | bots, some humanoids posting on the other thread. could this be an indication they are slowly waking up? | botman2
18/9/2005 20:11 | gulliver no you are not alone. I'm the holder too. It they can maintain dividend at current level for the next 3 years, it's good enough for me. I will most likely be out before the 3 years end. | tokyogirl
16/9/2005 16:35 | Just re-checked and turned this up from May 2005 company report. Quote: "The board intends to maintain dividend at current levels for the next three years." That's 7% on a company with consistent pre-tax profits for at least the last 5 years. It's a no-brainer. HIGHLIGHTS Group results in line with Trading Update issued on 22 March 2005 Sales up 4.5% with good growth in North America, Japan and Asia offset by lower growth in the UK and Europe Operating return on sales remained high at 13.6% despite pressure on gross margin and increased selling and marketing costs Strategy developed to refocus on key customer groups and reduce costs EBS projects making good progress Board intends to maintain dividend at current level for next three years CURRENT TRADING AND OUTLOOK Bob Lawson, Chairman, commented: "The Board is intent on delivering a sustainable and growing profit stream. We are announcing the next stage of the Group's development, which will achieve the Board's objectives by focusing on the key customer groups in each market served and reducing costs. A key enabler is the Enterprise Business System and its implementation this year in the UK is a major task. The Group does have a track record of executing change well. Since the year end, trading has remained strong in North America, Asia, Japan and the smaller European markets but it has continued to be depressed in the UK and our main European markets. The leading indicators suggest a difficult trading environment in most of our markets and so we remain cautious on the outlook for the coming year." Enquiries: | gulliverr
16/9/2005 08:02 | Looks like I'm the only holder then? Well that's the contrairian philosophy for you! | gulliverr
15/9/2005 15:40 | Too right about this being a neglected stock on these boards. Cautious trading statement earlier this year didn't help. Since then we have the hurricane season in the States which is bound to boost sales. Pays a good dividend though the cover is under 1. Nevertheless, still positive and still making profits. Worth a small punt at 1000 shares, I reckon. PS. The divi wasn't cut which is a good sign for next June after better results than expected. (Prediction!!!!!!!!) | gulliverr
15/9/2005 09:37 | trading statement out next week i believe, could be in for a big move. hope its upwards ;) | botman2
15/9/2005 09:12 | ECM looks very bullish. Short term target 270 shouldn't be a problem. | china doll
14/9/2005 21:18 | Much more by the look of it. Franklin Templeton Investments are now holding 5.03% of the total issued share capital of the Company according to today's RNS. | china doll
12/9/2005 16:06 | Franklin Templeton up to 4,41%, how much do they want? | botman2
