The prices of precious metals continued to rise on Friday due to the uncertainty surrounding the impact of increasing inflation in the United States on the Federal Reserve's decisions regarding interest rates. As a result, higher demand for safe haven assets among investors.

At the same time, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has further fueled the demand for precious metals as a safe haven. This comes as a US-led coalition launched multiple attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen.

Gold went up by 1.61% at 9:32 am ET to sell for $2,061.07 per ounce. At the same time, silver added 3.00% to go for $23.43 per ounce. Platinum went up by 2.09%, selling for $938.15 per ounce. A minute later, palladium rose by 1.17% to go for $986.86 per ounce.

UK Armed Forces Minister James Heappey tells BBC Breakfast that UK jets launched strikes on two Houthi targets in Yemen overnight, while US jets targeted a further 12.

He says the operation was "limited, proportionate and necessary" to defend war ships and shipping vessels in the Red Sea. He says no further strikes are currently planned.

"As ever, our nation’s armed forces and civil servants who work alongside them have excelled themselves in planning this mission," he says.

"There was plenty of risk in it and we should all be very proud of what they did last night."

Even if there are criminal charges to answer they will take years to prosecute meanwhile the show goes on here.It's not a Wirecard on NMC Health scenario imho.

I can't believe that other directors, executives or legal team didn't know the terms of the disposal - the whole leadership could change depending on the investigations. Will there be criminal case(s)?

A bit like Bernard Looney at BP,doing something he shouldn't be doing! Can't see him influencing operational decisions much at the mines plus the last update was positive.Still dyor in this stock pickers market.The 4.7% yield at the price I paid appealed too.

Can anyone here give an accurate market capitalisation for EDV.The lse share price charts give a valuation of 1.38bn.....HL give a market cap of 4.19bn and ADVFN says over 7bn! I'm well confused...not difficult I know....
