01/2/2009 15:33 | If you are patient, I think you'll get a lot more than 35p. The only way that would be acceptable to most shareholders is if they face bankruptcy. That is very unlikely because I am sure they can defer the debt settlement with Lloyds. Lloyds are majority owned by the Govt, who have pumped £20bn into the banking system precisely so SMEs like Eidos do not have their credit choked off at this time. Also, Eidos is a very high profile SME and I don't think the Govt would be too impressed to see the UK's largest games publisher pushed into administration by a bank they largely own. On that basis, the share price is stupidly low with or without a bid. The 2nd half line-up is strong, particularly BS:P, JC2 and Batman, with Shellshock 2 and CM09 playing a supporting role. Also, the PS2 version of TR:U has made a strong start and the 2 x 360 download episodes will generate useful revenue. With that line-up in this FY and DX3, HM5, K&L2, Pony Friends 2 and new ip like mini ninjas (which looks stronger in the trailer than I expected) in the 12-18 months after that, then I'm sure they can persuade the bank to roll over the debt until next year. There is always a risk that they won't but I think it's a very small one. It is more likely they will defer the debt and move the share price with successful launches of the upcoming titles. That's my take on it, but time will tell how it pans out. It's certainly worth a lot more than 35p IMO and I would turn it down. | ![]() life of crime

28/1/2009 14:08 | andthesea - I try and keep it simple! I think I said "as good as zero" or something like that, and from the trading update Jan 9th I think that is a quite likely outcome absent a bid for the company, as would have happened to Eidos back whenever without bids from Elevation and SCi. If there is a bid obviously not a zero, but I can't see them trading out on their own. | ![]() queeny2
28/1/2009 13:17 | Thanks Togglebrush, I don't think the Interims will set the share price alight. Only hope is a bid/take over. | ![]() peterbill
28/1/2009 11:53 | Potential offer has been announced earlier this month. Thats why we get the Rule 8.3 reports. However there is about 10% of the shares as a market overhang. These were part of the 43 million backing shares for Robert T's CFDs which collapsed when the Icelandic banks went base over apex. One reason the share price is not moving. Interims due about Mid February. | ![]() togglebrush |
