Agreed they did seem pretty carp, giving the mine away for next to nothing and going off chasing dreams whilst the coal price soared.
Gone now though and new management are hoping for what for EDL will be large sales this month.
See if they deliver..

All that statement did was confirm the management’s utter incompetence up until yesterday!

This is encouraging. It does seem to be the new board are determined to get things going and not just draw wages. I would expect a lot more regular news flow.

RNS 05/07/22 - "It is the intention of the incoming executive Board members to spend significant time in Tanzania and retain and relocate certain experienced personnel from other existing African coal operations, which they are associated with, to Tanzania. A more comprehensive update on this will be provided in the near future."

am delighted to be joining the Edenville Board. Given my ongoing operational experience in Africa I believe we are well positioned to optimise the proposed expansion of Rukwa, both in terms of production rates and sales. I look forward to providing shareholders with a more comprehensive update on this in the near future."

The Company is also pleased to announce that it has offtake requests for an aggregate 5,000 tonnes of washed coal in August 2022, comprising a 4,000 tonne international export order to a new customer in Mombasa, Kenya, and 1,000 tonnes to a longstanding Tanzanian customer. Furthermore, the new customer has indicated a potential requirement of up to 12,000 tonnes per month which the Company will endeavour to fulfil over the coming months, although this will require a significant ramping up of production at Rukwa under the supervision of the new on-site management team and a formal offtake agreement has yet to be signed with this customer.

Edenville Energy Plc

("Edenville" or the "Company")

Corporate Update

Following a period of previously announced disappointing performance at Rukwa Coal Project ("Rukwa"), Edenville is pleased to announce that a new experienced on-site management team has been mobilised to run its mine at Rukwa in Western Tanzania, with the local team expected to be in place as of today, 3 August 2022. This follows a visit to the site by CEO Noel Lyons and Paul Ryan the Company's recently appointed executive Board members.

All of the production targets above far exceed previous and recent production levels at the mine and as a result there may be challenges initially getting production up to these levels but the new on-site management will endeavour to achieve the above target.

In addition, the Company continues to make progress on the reversal of the transfer of Upendo Group Ltd.'s 10% economic interest in the joint venture, which holds the licences governing the Rukwa project, to a 10% direct holding on the principal production licence. A further update will be provided in due course.

Market still unimpressed even with new management. Looks like RNS'd offtakes needed?

Well, at least they cannot do any worse than the previous bunch. I thought Rufus was bad but Alistair Muir turned out to be a right do nothing individual.

They have to mine and wash the coal before they can sell it.
They were supposed to be producing 3,000tons per month last year. Never materialised.
I wonder how much it cost them to break the contract.
Don’t hold your breath for any shareholder returns here.
Then there is the elephant in the room with Upendo.?

This is it!!!

EDL have turned a corner for good.
Coal prices are higher than a year ago, so EDL will benefit from rising coal prices.
Factor in the Russian oil Embargo, where will Energy shortfall come from?
Europe going back to coal this winter

Yes they've taken control back with the rising price. If they really can sell the coal then things are finally looking here imo.
