Whoopy. Means nothing to Edl or shareholders unless Edl bod get massive finance sorted out soon and stop with petty placings to bankroll wages every 3 months.

Strange an RNS hasn't been released to say why recent full mining licence has been withdrawn. That's the only thing edl had going for it and now it seems the Tanzanian goverment has had second thoughts. Check the portal site and you'll see its gone. All other primary licences are still there but full mining licence is gone.

Is this what has been part of the delay ?

If so, no wonder LC is confident of financial close funding !!

China Awards Tanzania With USD 60 Billion Fund For Coal-Based Power Generation

TOPICS:Coal

MARCH 16, 2016

The Chinese government has recently awarded Tanzania with a USD 60 billion fund for investments in the country’s energy sector, which are meant to bring professional know-how and technology to specially boost the coal-based power generation industry. The funds awarded follow an agreement reached by China and Tanzania during the 6th Meeting of the Forum of Cooperation Between China and Africa held in South Africa in December, 2015, that helped booth countries to engage towards the development not only of the energy sector, but also others as health, infrastructure, trade, investment, and poverty reduction. According to the African Development Bank (AfDB), Tanzania currently generates less than 1% of its total capacity installed of 1,754 MW from coal-fired power plants that are fully supplied by imported coal. In 2013 Tanzania imported USD 1.35 million of coal briquettes to supply its coal-fired power plants, mostly from Malawi, accounting for 86% of the total imported according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This is why the government is closely working with energy and mining companies with the support of the National Development Corporation (NDC) to boost coal production, reduce imports and raise power generation. Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania, Dr. Lu Youqing, explained that a good relation between China and Tanzania has existed for decades across all industries and that the Chinese government is engaged with the African country to keep cooperating specially in the energy sector and coal-based power generation industry. Tanzania’s President John Magufuli and Minister of Energy and Minerals, Prof. Sospeter Muhongo are doing a great job developing the country’s economy and energy sector, reason why the Chinese government trusts them on the way to manage the country’s natural resources and funds awarded, Ambassador Youqing added. On the other hand, Minister Muhongo explained the great opportunities that there are for Tanzanian students in China and invite them to apply for the available scholarships to approach Master Degrees and PhD courses in the oil and gas fields to contribute with the country’s development. China has been working in Tanzania for over 40 years and has so far awarded the country with interest-free and concessional loans and grants worth of USD 108,293 million, CNY 619 million and TZS 438 million in different sectors according to China Foreign Aid.

Why isn't someone asking someone who should know, rather than asking people who obviously don't know?

Jackson had a valid point. If it's been removed, and that isn't standard practice, then it's right to question why it's been removed. No licence, no business.

It's a subject that should interest everyone. You obviously aren't invested here so it is of no interest to you why the licence has been removed, I don't know why it has been removed that's why I am asking the question.

Why has the mining licence been removed from portal. That's more important than topping up. All topping up does is cost you more money to average down to a lower share price where others have bought in at own many more shares at far less cost. I very much doubt all the pi's who bought in when this was pumped to 0.06 a couple of weeks ago would appreciate being told to top up to average down as they nurse very large losses already. EDL is a money pit and has been for 5 years. Placing after placing after placing has decimated this share, but the bod keep milking the same wages month after month, year after year.

If the licence approval has been retracted and the Tanzanian authorities have taken the full licence back off Edenville then they need to inform shareholders immediately. It seems strange that the approval has been removed from the portal site. Not good.
