RNAs - A New Frontier in Crop Protection

Small RNA (sRNA)-mediated RNA interference (RNAi) is a regulatory mechanism conserved in almost all eukaryotes. sRNAs play a critical role in host pathogen interactions either endogenously or by traveling between the interacting organisms and inducing “cross-Kingdom RNAi” in the counterparty. Cross-kingdom RNAi is the mechanistic basis of host-induced gene silencing (HIGS), which relies on genetically expressing pathogen-gene targeting RNAs in crops, and has been successfully utilized against both microbial pathogens and pests. HIGS is limited by the need to produce genetically engineered crops. Recent studies have demonstrated that double-stranded RNAs and sRNAs can be efficiently taken up by many fungal pathogens, and induce gene silencing in fungal cells. This mechanism, termed “environmental RNAi”, allows direct application of pathogen-gene targeting RNAs onto crops to silence fungal virulence-related genes for plant protection. In this review, we will focus on how we can leverage cross-kingdom RNAi and environmental RNAi for crop disease control.

Conclusion
In today’s world, crop producers are tasked with producing more food than ever for a constantly growing population, while a changing climate puts stressed crops at higher risk for pathogen attack. As resistance to traditional chemical disease control measures increases at an alarming rate [2], it is becoming clear that innovative plant disease control strategies are critical to maintaining global food security. In addition to agricultural uses, RNA-based disease therapeutics are being developed for use in humans [81], and the first sRNA drug, ONPATTRO [82], was approved for clinical use in 2018. Further, two of the widely used vaccines against COVID-19, manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna, are mRNA vaccines [83]. In parallel to these clinical developments, RNA based technologies potentially represent the next generation of crop protection strategies, which can reduce the use of harmful pesticides and make major contributions to integrated pest management strategies [84,85].

So someone bad mouthed you and you got an order to keep them quiet.

A 'sealed' Tomlin, so that's a judge made order. Come on, tell us the name of the parties. You can't or won't.

You are out of your depth and making it up as you go along.

Defamation - figures.

There is no privacy in the existence of a civil case.

It didn't happen.

=====

Wait here for a moron, and one (usually with 10+ IDs) swiftly appears.

There was no "case". There was a settlement (£££ -> me) otherwise there would have been litigation. Look up Tomlin Orders, ferkwit! :D

You are soooooo out of your depth. Depriving me of the fun in ruining you and the boiler room scam you operate here.

Now ferkorf, Northwick.

Yes Yes..but,

The Corteva ..The Viking Seeds Epic Voyage video present Corn and Sunflower seeds.

Igor Teslenko told us;

'Corteva is also running trials in sunflower crops. If extensive testing meets our rigorous requirements and is considered efficient, we will also extend the label to sunflower crops'.

Since the video includes Sunflower seeds, we should assume that the trials that Igor told us about are now complete and Ecovelex is proven to work on Sunflower seeds.

To date Corteva and Eden have decided not to tell us this small detail.

So not only do they not plug their own Viking promo video they both choose not to tell us that the Sunflower seed trials have been a success.

Why the delay .?

What might one infer from the absence of any RNS or EUA for Italian Sunflower seeds ?

Perhaps the Italians like to feed their corvids Sunflower seeds but not Corn seeds..

Or perhaps they are waiting for the launch of Ecovelex in both seeds via a full EU approval announcement?

Or perhaps they are 'winning the start' by 'waiting for Bayer' due to anti.trust considerations.

And don't forget... Abrey's statement .. on peak sales..and what does that actually mean?

Such a lot to consider..

No need for you to speak to Northwick AKA Timbo_Slice AKA (etc.)

Since you are the above decrepit old loser, and talking to oneself is what only mad people do, may I assure you no further evidence that you are deranged is needed.

After all, you're an Edenic LTH!!

You spout these threats and terms as if you actually know what you are talking about. I reckon you have never got a single penny out of them. Pass me his contact details as I’d like to ask them myself.

With full EU Ecovelex approval coming in the next 3 weeks (imho) buying seems a most sensible activity and those who suggest such an outcome should be treated with disdain and considerable scepticism by those who wish to accumulate while bargain prices persist..

Super,

Agree with all of that. In line with 'Upcoming News-Flow' as published by the Company in the Interims presentation, we have 14.5 working days, so RNS days, before Christmas, including today.

If news (multiple) does come on time, it should be very exciting.

Perhaps Corteva's idea of 'winning the start' is to wait for Bayer.

AND

How does Abrey's statements about Ecovelex market share fit into a market shared by Bayer?

Abrey Sept 24- Ecovelex .."so overall we see this as an opportunity that's actually bigger than Mevelone and Cedroz put together so around 34 million euros in the EU UK Alone we're looking at about 3.6 million euros a peak for this particular use we expect that to be a shorter time frame than three years to Peak because of those same drivers and we're very far through the process of seeking full approval for the product we've talked about the emergency use authorizations one of which we successfully received last year which led to a material sale of product to Cortiva so this is a big one for us we're very excited about it we've made a good amount of progress and that's it's been a really good project"

Or perhaps.. they won't be waiting for Bayer.

What happened to the 'other territories' EUA Ecovelex applications?

Did they decide against it or perhaps an NDA limited Smiths commentary?
.............................

Sean Smith @10 Jan 2024

"And we will be pursuing another EUA for the 2025 growing season later this year particularly in Italy but possibly other territories as well across Europe"

Eden Research "very optimistic about how 2024 will look"
