Through our work in the agriculture sector in Thailand, it makes us happy and proud to make a positive impact on the livelihoods of our farmers and the society as a whole.

‘Food Safety Network' is one of those examples. The idea developed based on discussions and motivation @ Syngenta Thailand office (about farmer and consumers constraints). The goal is simple: to create a sustainable solution to bring safe and affordable food to every single household in Thailand!

Today @ Mae Charm district, Chiang Mai, we started the creation of a mini value chain model that links vegetable farmers directly with buyers, generating a better income for farmers, improved logistics for fresh produce, and good quality food for consumers.

It’s a long term commitment that we aim to scale up, evidence-based, across Thailand 🇹🇭, in order to provide access to safe vegetables for all!!

Biologicals stimulate natural processes to enhance or benefit nutrient uptake, nutrient use efficiency, abiotic stress tolerance, and crop quality and yield.

Brazil’s surge in biopesticide use marks a sustainable agriculture shift.

Over the last five years, Brazil has witnessed a 45% yearly increase in biopesticide use.

This growth far exceeds the 6% seen in traditional agricultural chemicals. Now, biopesticides cover 70 million hectares in Brazil.

A recent symposium, in collaboration with international universities and Ballagro Agro Technology, highlighted this shift.
Wagner Bettiol from Embrapa Environment praised the jump to 616 biopesticide products since 2011. This boom, he said, comes from their easy use and affordability.
Paula Packer of Embrapa underlined the drive towards farming that respects the earth. She pointed to science-backed biological controls as key.
Soybean fields have especially benefited, with biopesticide-treated areas growing to 20 million hectares by 2023.
Bettiol credited policy changes for this success, forecasting a $27.9 billion global market by 2028.

I learnt more about CABI BioProtection Portal and even won a Swiss knife. 🔍🐞

In 2021, 15.9 million hectares were cultivated organically or were in the process of conversion in the European Union, representing 9.9% of agricultural land, according to Eurostat. This figure represents an increase of 6.5 million compared to 2012 (9.5 million hectares). Between 2020 and 2021, the increase was more than 1.2 million hectares.
