Ag companies commit to the promising rise of biologicals

Denise Manker, director of global agronomic development, biologicals at Bayer CropScience in Davis, Calif., said Bayer and other major ag chemical companies are committed to the growth of biostimulants, biological pesticides and other biologically-based crop protection products.

“Every major agricultural chemical company has embraced biological pesticides,” Manker told the symposium. “The belief of the industry is that this is contributing to the industry as a whole. It is important to have investment in this area. This is true for both biopesticides and biostimulants.”

The Biological Products Industry Association wants to communicate the value of biostimulants and promotes industry standards for biostimulant products. “We want to be working with regulatory agencies and be the leading source of information for these types of products,” she said.

Bayer is conducting research to better understand mode of action and to understand crop response to biological products. “We want to understand the science. We want to be able to communicate what the attributes are and give our customers a reproducible response that they can rely on,” she said.

Well, the AGM is the one occasion that BoD's engage with shareholders and that's a legal requirement.

Take that away and you're often in the dark

If you two get let loose on the BoD it might be less of an AGM and more like "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition."

I will create a list if anyone has anything else and it can be forwarded to the Company, prior to the AGM, so as to be proactive hopefully, in answering these questions.

Equally, anyone else can forward the same?

Apples/ Sipcam Trials post harvest Treatment..what's happening?

Is the Wheat/soybean/ Cotton statement a reference to replacing the current Glyphosate formulation ingredients with the Micro particle tech and therefore Reducing harm?

I there any work by Sipcam on a Glyphosate replacement using essential oils.?

Sipcam Update.. how much down the 'very far advanced' road to go ? What proportion of Sipcam catalogue will contain Eden Tech? and is their a PR event/ promotion to announce new improved formulation etc..?

Update on Mevalone USA/ Australia/ UK

Update on Cedroz.. Is Eastman struggling to recruit for Cedroz rollout

What industry are Eden going to be among the leaders in?

Why not raise funds to accelerate R&d opportunities given the multiple commercial substances listed in the Micro-particle patent.

...Or are their Pipeline..Strategic Partners keen to engage with Eden on this?

Moluscs.

Super,

Where is your list of questions? I'll start with a few and anyone can add to the list keeping one single list. This is in no particular order

1) What is the BoD going to do to increase liquidity in Eden's share trading?
2) Might the Chairman brief us on his contribution this first half year and what if any role, is he playing in our negotiations, discussions and relationship with Bayer?
3) Two years ago, Eden in a Powerpoint sited 9 Bayer products coming off patent in their crop science division. What if any role is Eden playing or seeking to play in the continuation of these Bayer patents, possibly with the help of Eden's tech, Sustaine?
4) What is the up-to-date situation with Sipcam and those 20 active commercial ingredients being encapsulated in Sustaine. The Company mentioned some 8 weeks ago that this is 'very far advanced'. Will any regulatory approvals be required as a result of Sustaine involvement?
5)What is the BoD's opinion on a declining and then static share price over the last two years vis-a vis the 'significant commercial progress' the Company has stated that it has made
6) What will BoD do differently in the immediate term to better align share price and Company value that they haven't done in the past?
7) How many litres of Mevalone has Eden shipped thus far for the 2018 season to Eden's partners and what is the purchase cycle throughout a calendar year?
8) Given all the recent bad press about Glyphosate, is there not a major PR opportunity for Eden to highlight its 'natural solution' credentials among the journalistic community. If so, why doesn't Eden and Powerscourt organise an hour or two to present the same to as many as possible in one go?
9) What is the lead time for Cedroz given the logistics of 29 countries and when does Eden expect first deliveries of Cedroz to Eastman to occur?
10) Terpene Tech is now late as this was said to occur in the first half of 2018. Can the board give us a comprehensive update on what has gone wrong/why the delay and what is the now realistic timeframe for selling product to the same and in what territories?

There is a start. See what you can add that has specific relevance and semi immediate drivers today to our share price. Anything longer term and more strategic will be in their presentation anyway.

Chris Packham warns of 'ecological apocalypse' in Britain

He’s currently enjoying a great bounty of nature, from tree-climbing slugs to blackbird-gobbling little owls on this year’s Springwatch, but Chris Packham warns that we are presiding over “an ecological apocalypse” and Britain is increasingly “a green and unpleasant land”.
The naturalist and broadcaster is urging people to join him next month on a 10-day “bioblitz”, visiting road verges, farmland, parks, allotments and community nature reserves across the country to record what wildlife remains – from butterflies to bryophytes, linnets to lichens.

According to Packham, British people have normalised a “national catastrophe” and only see a wealth of wildlife in nature reserves, with the wider countryside bereft of life.

Alternative methods in plant protection.

Over the past ten years, the societal and legislative context has changed significantly with a central focus on the environment and taking into account the impact of human activities on our ecosystem. Agricultural production, both ornamental and food, do not escape the new challenges of limiting pollution. The horticultural and landscape sector is proactive in this new context both at the request of the public authorities and the professionals themselves. Framework Directive on water, "pesticides package", Ecophyto plan, future law for agriculture, Loi Labbé, Biodiversity and Energy Transition Act, are all frameworks that involve research and development of solutions alternatives to pesticides for producers and managers of green spaces.
ASTREDHOR has been interested for more than 20 years in developing optimal solutions for the use of bio-aggressor control products. Rather than the systematic eradication of problems, the proposed solutions are based on the management of equilibrium between pests, diseases and cultivators. If the objective of preserving the environment and better safety of the applicator are the fundamentals of these new technical and technological options, their implementation implies a profound and lasting change in the practices proposed by the work of the experimental stations. of the Institute.
Aware of this important issue, ASTREDHOR has decided to place the year 2018 under the sign of alternative methods in plant protection. Indeed, the Technical Institute wishes to propose, through a thematic information campaign, technical and technological insights to professionals of horticulture and landscape in a context of reduction or ban of the use of pesticides. This ASTREDHOR information campaign is at the heart of its strategy of transferring and disseminating the results of the research and innovation programs conducted in recent years, and provides information on ongoing work and prospects. research related to this theme.

The Institute publishes in particular the technical guide Alternative methods in plant protection for horticulture and landscape in June 2018: a valuable tool to take stock of the latest advances of the Institute concerning plant diseases, growth regulators , protection against pests, control of weeds and alternatives to chemical weed control or the regulation of biocontrol products and decision support tools ...

As part of this information campaign, this special issue of Horticultural Reference offers a bibliographic compilation of technical references on alternative methods in plant protection. It allows horticulturists and landscapers to deepen their knowledge on the subject.

Downy mildew alert in the Southwest France

Vines in Lot-et-Garonne: alert on mildew

With rain, the mushroom could show the tip of his nose.
"These episodes of rain and heat are ideal for the contamination of the vine by mildew, it is a major risk. "
Fabien Tarascon, president of the organization of defense and management of Côtes du Marmandais, remains on the lookout. For the moment, the vineyards of the territory have not shown signs of the devastating mushroom. But this one could show the tip of his nose.

A cycle of eight days
"The cycle of late blight is about eight days. And it's just eight days since it's raining every day in Marmandais. In organic, if the spray treatment on the vine Bordeaux mixture is effective, its effectiveness is limited by the recurring showers that "wash" the flowers and leaves... we should have a window of two days to deal effectively, "he says.
In non-organic agriculture, so-called systemic products should be more effective. "As long as you can access the plots to treat," says the winemaker.
In terms of flowering, things are rather reassuring. "It is especially necessary to avoid the temperature surges, which is the case these last days. We should be fixed within ten to fifteen days. "

Downy mildew is back in the vineyards of the Hérault

Vineyards of Herault.
The Hérault became a very big wine-producing region today, five of its soils are classified in AOC (Saint Chinian, Minervois, Faugères, Clairette du Languedoc and Côteaux du Languedoc). The wine growers show a knowledge enriched by wine growers' generations, the variety of grounds give a peculiarity to every soil offering us an unequalled variety of wines...

Sipcam in Argentina @ AgroMax S.R.L ...…..
……………….
AGROCHEMICAL WORLDWIDE MARKET RANKING 2013

Sipcam = .0.8% of agrochemical Market. Total Market = 60689 $M Sipcam share = 485.512$M

…………………………

I keep coming back to this statement in the Preliminary Results.

'Continuing this theme, I am looking forward to building speed and positioning Eden to be amongst the leaders in our industry'

If Eastman and Sipcam are not considered 'leaders in our industry' with Sipcam at .8% and I'm unsure about Eastman so lets be generous and say 1%.

How is SS going to justify his statement with our Ag partners making up approx. 2% of global demand.

One explanation maybe a deal with Bayer or similar sized company or 'our industry' refers to the smaller Bio-control sustainable chemistry industry.

A question for the AGM .

'If having endured much, we at last asserted our 'right to know' and if, knowing, we have concluded that we are being asked to take senseless and frightening risks, then we should no longer accept the counsel of those who tell us that we must fill our world with poisonous chemicals, we should look around and see what other course is open to us'.

..maybe this film will help

“I have just finished watching Poisoning Paradise and I am so grateful to the Brosnans for making this beautifully shot film. I have been speaking out about Monsanto, Dow, Syngenta and the rest for a long time, and this film brings absolute proof of the evil forces that are poisoning the environment and harming animals and people in Hawaii. I hope that this film is shown around the world, that it wins every prize out there, that it wakes people up and generates anger. We need millions of citizens from around the world to take to the streets in a massive protest against the use of lethal chemicals on our fields and the shocking expose of corruption at high levels. Watch it. Become angry. Take action.”

Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE – Founder – the Jane Goodall Institute & UN Messenger of Peace.

Many documentary photography projects attempt to reveal the structural violence that society has wrought. Monsanto: a photographic investigation by photographer Mathieu Asselin is more specific in its aim: it is a visual call for corporate responsibility. Drawing on the theme of temporality that pollution often creates, the photobook is a timeline that documents over 100 years of chemical harm. The book explains through word and image how the agrochemical company Monsanto has caused ecological, social, and health problems for countless people across the world.....
