Graff - 2 about to commence drilling from Upstream. Very positive for Namibia and hopefully ECO.

Informed sources told Upstream that the Valaris DS 10 drillship is ready to begin drilling on 15 February, adding that the location of the probe and Shell’s eagerness to quickly spud a delineation well, both indicate how big this deepwater discovery may be.

On completing Graff-1 last month in Block 2913A, the drillship returned to Walvis Bay for re-supplies, but is now on location at the Graff-2 well site, according to tracking data from VesselsValue.

The rig looks set to spud Graaf-2 in Block 2914B, about eight kilometres northeast of the original discovery well.

One exploration source suggested the distance between the locations of the two wells suggests how big the areal extent of the Graff structure is and supports suggestions it could hold about 400 million barrels of oil, possibly more, some 100 million barrels larger than it was previously suggested to Upstream.

While neither Shell nor Namcor – its state-owned partner in the well – have unveiled resources estimates for the discovery, a briefing note for clients issued by Wood Mackenzie earlier this month said: “We understand the well met its pre-drill estimate of between 500 million and 1 billion barrels. We assume 700 million barrels is recoverable.”

We need to get this Placing out the way for drilling , 50% for the orange basin will be required. However ECO never really give a discount to the share price on a placing historically. Which bodes well

Pointless comparison Jimarilo. Almost all ECO's market cap is for its Guyana assets. In any case, Graff-1 news is far more relevant to ECO as they actually have acreage in the Orange Basin unlike GBP and TRP, and this asset it due to be drilled later this year. ECO's four Namibian licences are also all closer to Graff-1 than TRP's single licence, which is about 1,200km and two geological basins away.

TRP's main concern at the moment is whether or not Beluga will walk away from the Cameroon farm out. Completion was scheduled for the end of September, but still nothing. The previous partner, OilLR, also disappeared without a trace. I wish you well with TRP if you're invested.

Really......Eco £56m m/cap

TRP £8m m/cap ......third largest NET acreage holder in Namibia adjacent to Exxon, with 2 billion barrel potential. Acreage that has already brought oil to the surface in the mid 90's

South African acreage with 1 billion barrel potential, surrounded by Majors

Cameroon acreage with 2p reserves and plenty of running room to increase reserves

Seems to me you get much more bang for your buck in TRP .....pound for pound currently

OilPrice.com says this about it. Oil major Shell (NYSE:RDS) made a light oil discovery with its Graff-1 deepwater exploration well off the Namibian coast, the first-ever in the country’s waters, with preliminary estimates putting the discovered reserves at a respectable 300 million barrels.

Not according to Eco,Gooner
“ - Eco remains funded for further anticipated drilling on the Orinduik Block and continues, with its JV Partners, to assess all opportunities available to drill at least one exploration well into the light oil cretaceous stacked targets after the target selection process is finalised.”
