Another drill success offshore reported late last night by GALP/Sintana Energy. 1st of 4 appraisals in current program on the giant Mopane oilfield, third well on the field confirms extension of main reservior AVO-1 almost 10km away;"29.11.2024Galp (80%, operator), together with its partners NAMCOR (10%) and Custos/Sintana Energy (10%), has successfully drilled, cored and logged the Mopane-1A appraisal well (Well #3) in block PEL83, which was spud on October 23. The Mopane-1A well encountered light oil and gas-condensate in high quality reservoir-bearing sands, once again indicating good porosities, high permeabilities, and high pressures, as well as low oil viscosity characteristics with minimum CO2 and no H2S concentrations. Together with the Mopane-1X (Well #1) and Mopane-2X (Well #2) findings, this appraisal well confirms the extension and quality of AVO-1. Galp and its partners will continue to analyse and integrate all new acquired data, whilst progressing with the upcoming activities, which include E&A wells, and a high-resolution proprietary 3D seismic campaign set to start in December 2024"Namibia is on fire!Cash |
I was an investor in Eco in 2020 when they found the heavy oil, although it did 100% plus on the find.It now looks interesting for next year at these levels but patience willBe needed. Been to quiet last year or so. Gil does need to get his finger out. |
Big year 2025 |

Malcy's take on todays announcement:
Results here are of no significance, for Eco its excitement is all about the trading of its assets, the big farm-out of 3b/4B has brought in plenty of cash with more to come next year whilst incoming acreage included Block 1 and outgoing of Block 2B.
The company say that discussions are ongoing in Guyana where there should be a great deal of upside, the proof of the pudding, as they say…
Eco is one of the most attractive stocks in the bucket list with a smart management using its portfolio to the full, once it all fires together the potential upside should be huge. |
turning out to be as the Beatles sang "A day tripper" C'mon ECO, stop teasing! GLA |
South Africa is starting to wake up. |

Very nice, not long to wait now. |
Fig.5 should interest the folk on here.
Bring on 2025 and the drill bit. |
Watch for the Tungsten Explorer to move and see if it lands in SA; it may not be 3B/4B first, but it will be close.
2025 will be interesting for ECO. |

A late 100k sell, but the trades dont look balanced. There might be an initial 'gap up' tomorrow, but, knowing the mm games, I don't think so. |
Waiting for a late sell print. Otherwise, dunno. |
What happened at the end there? |
Well that ruffled a few feathers.! ? |
