cheers FangHorn2

I watched the promotional Video once and it sounded to good to be true at the time.

Sometimes you have a gut feeling when they claim 'everyone is a winner' type situations.

Not many traded either, so not a real panic sell off as such.

They don't cut down trees. They use the offcuts etc from trees that would've been cut down anyway ....

Where do Drax go from now? Massive investment to Gas powered?

I always though that biomass was BS. Something didn't seem right cutting down lots of trees like that.

I wonder if DRX ought to request suspending the share pending clarification of potential financial impact.

Good post from ucabwoo on LSE:

CCL LECs are essentially certificates granted to companies that have lots of renewable generation. CCL (Climate charge levy) is charged as part of the cost stack in the energy bill (it's about 4/5 quid per MWH). Haven in the past have been very competitive as they sit on all these LECs generated by DRAX allowing them to undercut the big six (by discounting the cost stack using the certificates) and win lots of business from them. This will no longer be the case and they will have to face the big boys on a level playing field. As such cash flow is very uncertain and revenue forecasts will be significantly revised downwards. Source...I work in the industry.

8% of the market, but it's using out of date and expensive coal powered stations and switching to even worse out of pocket biomass.

Barmy scenario.

"Do you know what % of power Drax provides to the country......you can't just let it shutdown FFS!!!"

I'm not paying my money to rescue it, and that's for sure. I've been taken in by enough companies over the last 20 years.

Investing is meant to bring returns for shareholders and not just endless wage gravy trains and then they blame external forces.

I've held enough companies that have gone bust or are 99% down and still doing endless placings.

On what basis? merely plucking a number out of thin air helps no one.
Where are your numbers behind this £2 call?

Drax is far from outdated. They've spent hundreds of millions on turbine upgrades and I believe is one of the most efficient thermal stations in the country.

Company needs to make a statement asap on todays budget impact on it's long term viability and it won't be good IMO.
