Company of the Year contender(again)

Financial Times:

Company of the year: Success comes in many shapes and sizes

"....For Chris Moore, the chief executive of Domino's Pizza UK & IRL, it is demographic and prosperity trends that need to be watched closely. "There is a large proportion of the population – the over 55s – that seldom eat pizza," he says. But as they get older, people take their eating habits with them, and his potential market grows.

"The company, which owns rights to the Domino's brand in the UK and Ireland, operates through 136 franchisees with an average of 4.5 stores each.

"In the year ended December 27, 2009, it delivered to 3.4m homes, 500,000 more than in 2008, despite – or perhaps because of – the sour economic climate.

"System sales (turnover of the franchised pizza outlets) rose 16 per cent to £407m, and pre-tax profit accelerated 28 per cent to £29.9m, continuing a growth trend that made Domino's a second-time contender for the PLC Awards."

Next week is going to see a big move for us. DOM always chills for a week after it has gone ex-divi...but then goes ballistic the week after. Looking for 380p next week.

Got an email from doom and gloom merchants at Moneyweek. They suggest to take profits:

Three stocks to take profits in

We tipped takeaway chain Domino's Pizza (LSE: DOM) just over a year ago when it was 215p. It's still a good company. But at its current share price of 338p, up 57%, the stock is now on a current year p/e ratio of more than 22. The consensus forecast by City analysts is for this to drop to 20 in 2011, but that's still pricey. What's more, the move in the price has lowered the prospective yield to just 2.6%.

I think they have forgotton that historically Dom has always been pricey. But theres a very good reason for that - Its a quality growth story.

Feel sorry for those who got shaked out at 305p on results day.

What a bummer for them! But hats off to those clever dealers who engineered that shake, it got rid of so many of the weak longs. I didnt actually see it take place, only saw it on the chart, but if I saw it I would have thought that it was going to get sold off into oblivion. Such was the power of that shake.

Even looking at it on the daily candle stick chart makes me think theres a problem with the charts and it didnt actually dip that low.

Some may think it's far fetched but it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see this hit 375 before the week is out.
