"The Directors do not have a scoot what's going to happen here. Time to face up and sell up, I have."

Good. So why do you continue to post pointlessly here?

LONDON (Alliance News) - Chinese regulated lottery products company DJI Holdings PLC on Tuesday reiterated that it does not expect to take a material hit from the temporary suspension of online lottery sales in China as it welcomed backing from a number of local government authorities in China for the industry.

DJI said eight government authorities in China have outlined their commitment to promoting legal and licensed participants in the lottery industry in the country and the importance of an online element to the lottery games.

In March, DJI said lottery sales would be materially reduced across China after a number of provincial lottery centres stopped accepting online orders on March 1 as they undergo self-inspection processes. The decision was made in response to legislation handed down by the Chinese Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Civil Affairs and the General Administration of Sports.

DJI said at the time it expects online lottery sales to restart in the near future and that the suspension would not have a material impact on its 2015 results. It reiterated that view on Tuesday, saying it remains confident the suspension will not hit its results and that trading will begin again soon, though the suspension remains in place.

Shares in DJI were up 2.4% to 60.90 pence on Tuesday.

POLICY: CHINA MAY RESUME ONLINE LOTTERY SALES TODAY AS REGULATORY AGREEMENT SAID TO BE REACHED
The rumoured agreement of authorities on the treatment of online lottery sales indicates that the business will soon be restarted after suspension from 1 March. A new level of regulation has been applied, with all lottery agents that have received provincial sales contracts must now register with the central government authorities. It will lead to the removal of smaller players and allow high quality agents that have operated under the law to emerge in a stronger position.
In a sign that the investigation has been successful, state media (Xinhua) reported that the Guangdong policy captured 1,071 people involved in the largest lotter-related online gambling case the country has cracked down upon. The group established 199 websites and attracted more than 409bn yuan in best each month. Normally some “success”; of a policy investigation is announced prior to a new policy release.
Online lottery sales were suspended by concerns over illegal lottery operators not registering with the government on all sales, and also over revenue sharing concerns. The latest regulation should address illegal operators, but future regulation may still be needed to address the revenue sharing issue.
We believe the final solution to this will be to split revenues more evenly between the provinces. Currently, 50-69% of the ticket price is paid out to consumers on successful bets, 25-30% goes to the government fund and 15% is paid to provincial lottery centres and agents as commission. Agents usually receive 9-13% and provincial lottery centres get 2-6%. While the current breakdown for the commissions will remain unchanged (benefiting the centre that has authorized the product), there could be greater sharing of the government fund. Currently, the government fund revenue is split 50:50 between the central government and the local government who has the authorized product. In the future, the local government in which the consumer resides may also receive some of this government fund.

Darren Mercer CEO owns over 29 million shares which equates to over 22% of the company, I would say that him not selling at the moment is all the confidence you need!

It would have been helpful if directors bought some of the shares to show confidence in company and their business model.

Hi Q12

What I will say is they knew the geographical situation and so did investors right from the beginning.

Their overheads are their overheads and always have been, and as per the last statement the suspension will not have a material effect.

And as Monts12 pointed out, the government need DJI and other regulated lottery suppliers up and running because it is income for them, so I believe the suspension will be short.

Don't worry about criticizing my investments, I do it everyday!

ToyinThey cannot influence Central government, they cannot second guess them either. They do not really know how long this suspension will last, they can guess they can predict but they do not know. What they do know is that they are pretty much a start up, with a good business model but without the benefit of a diversified geographical presence yet. This has come at the worst possible time for them.Translated......all their eggs are in the one basket. In the meantime they have a hefty fixed overhead that is chomping their cash reserves on a daily basis. I know you don't like any criticism of your investment, maybe you are company management even, but that's my take on things. Do you disagree with any of the points I raise ?The share price has halved in weeks so I'm not the only one with negative views on DJI. I'm disappointed and decided to start selling up at quite a loss. You don't win em all.Good luck with your investment.Q12

Hi ayesha4

77p.

No I am not bothered at all for three reasons:

1. I never put more than 2% of my pot into 1 stock.
2. I usually scale in and scale out of risky stocks (which I am with dji).
3. I am very confident that this will come good and if it does'nt the worst I can do is 2%.

I would have normaly got out by now and waited for things to settle, kicking myself a bit, but like I said worst case 2%.

All the best

A great opportunity to buy imo. Risky but if online lottery sales recommence soon then these will bounce strongly from here.
On the flip side, if not the price will continue to drift down.
Hopefully the Chinese authorities will finish their clean up quickly, remember they need the income from lotto sales as well.
The hoards of online lotto punters are waiting on the sidelines impatiently!
