Eastbourne1982....spot on, the market is just repeating the 99 tech bubble in a different way, if you are only internet and lose money you get a massive valuation. Bricks and mortar are a hindrance in most investors minds. There are lots of examples of etailers that make virtually no money or losses after many years, the cost of logistics just makes the model impossible, especially for things that are heavy to move like white goods or furniture.

Seb rode on the back of what Browett and Keith did then had 2 years of grace as they gained market share after Comet went bust,in the last 2 years of his reign the shares have halved and he has been linked to other jobs and accused by many of losing focus on his job.

Also reports of poor demand for I phone x and 8 not helping.

I think statement will be ok though but they are likely to jump all over any negatives in this environment.

DC. Christmas trading statement out next Tue (23/01/18).

The markets are as nervous as hell at the movement (probably with good reason).

Well I sold out yesterday - in at 154 out at 197...trading update on Tuesday. Next week and although I expected a bit of a push this week it hasn't materialized I've also noticed the top losers board where they take no prisoners if updates don't beat expectationsGood luck all - happy with the profit and not prepared to risk it on the trading update

JL electricals down 6% L4L last week which is quite a drop, probably not helping although mobile was strong.

We could debate that but not management or the financial markets view. Read the reports of his appointment to M&S.

Well regarded and trusted? I wouldn't say so as far as investors are concerned. Profit warning and accounting guidance problems last year alone.

Nothing to worry about. He has left for a bigger job with a great reference otherwise he would not have got a bigger job at M&S.Plus working his notice so he is well regarded and trusted at DC.Good luck to him.

No doubt more money and along with an upward move to a CFO position -serving his notice which indicates Dixons are happy for him to continue with them until he moves on and he is happy to continue working for Dixons until he moves on...can't see anything other than wanting a new job in a higher position myself
