02/4/2024 21:33 | $12.54 close in NY, a tad off a tenner ($12.57). | bountyhunter
02/4/2024 21:07 | Up more than 3% in the US. | justiceforthemany
02/4/2024 20:45 | Only if you have completed a W8-BEN and hold in an ISA. Outside of an ISA the full 30% is deducted with nothing deducted in a SIPP with W8-BEN completed. At least that's my understanding. I don't think that the US listing makes any difference except for no stamp duty payable any more on LSE purchases so that's a bonus! | bountyhunter
02/4/2024 20:17 | At risk of bringing up this old chestnut again! Iweb still deducted 30% wht. I was under the impression that it should be 15% now there is a US listing too? | spawny100
02/4/2024 18:45 | Not that far off a tenner in New York now at $12.40. $12.57 would do it. | bountyhunter
02/4/2024 15:02 | interesting graph imho ... low natural gas correlation with the dec SP hedging probably. but lots of space to improve some metrics imho got my divi here in slovenia via german banks with 0 tax deduction | kaos3
02/4/2024 14:35 | As has been discussed to death on here many times, it seems to be that any broking operation that is an offshoot of a bank will not reimburse withholding tax properly. Why that is, is more obscure. They will tell their disgruntled investors some BS like Isainvestor was given in post 8157 but that begs the question of why brokers that are not bank-derived seem to be able to refund all or some of the withholding tax. The only explanation I have seen was on LSE ages ago (link in header I believe) that it is a licensing/regulatory thing and bank derived brokers simply haven't the mechanisms to refund withholding tax. EDIT: Beaten to it by Bluemango! | cassini
02/4/2024 14:18 | I too have been taxed 30%. When I chatted to the Halifax agent, they said that ..... Diversified Energy is a UK listed company. UK listed companies that pay US sourced dividends a 30% withholding tax is applied. I have a W8-BEN in place but that doesn't help. | isainvestor
02/4/2024 13:31 | bluemango, Correct good memory. But to be fair HL have been paying back the 30% reduction,s since 28/12/2022,Only because I keep requesting it every quarter. It seems to be a problem for them, because I have a overseas address. But my. HL Personal details clearly states that. Residency tax status is that I am a Rest of the UK rate taxpayer. Guy called Oli Nevin as been dealing with this problem, and told me 6 months ago it was being sorted ? I even secure messaged him last week to inform of the due DEC dividend and for the dividend to be paid in full .Very complicated ,but you can be sure if I had not requested the 30% being refunded. HL would be pocketing the 30% ? The quality of the Admin over the last 10 years as gone downhill, and HL are taking ages to reply regarding this problem. | garycook
02/4/2024 13:25 | Garycook. I'm with HL. I have been paid finally but HL have actually deducted the correct amounts (0% for SIPP and 15% outside). I have a WBEN form in place with them. | huckers
02/4/2024 13:17 | To be fair to HL, it's probably same issue as in January, GC. See below: bluemango 10 Jan '24 - 00:20 - 7194 of 8153 Edit Mine's in a HL SIPP and they correctly deduct zero tax, so all ok. From memory, aren't you a non UK resident Gary? Not sure on the rules in that situation but if so, it might have something to do with how they're treating it in your case. | bluemango
02/4/2024 10:52 | You can change the broker , still not late | stevensupertrader
02/4/2024 10:32 | Me too. Halifax always late. Might have to remind myself why I went with them 7 years ago. | isainvestor |
