#1Knocker, buy today and collect the dividend or buy from tomorrow and miss it, swings and roundabouts so I have added a few qualifying shares daily, with the accretive Tanos deal due for a completion RNS in the morning too will this over ride the impact of the typical XD drop in the share price and spark the reversal trend..?

We could have seen the lows in NG1 now, the DXY seems to have turned at 105 too heading lower now and we should get a decent FX fix for the coming 0.04375 dividend..

An interesting period coming up..

It does not look as though anyone is going to get killed in the rush to get in before DEC goes ex d.
It will be interesting to see how the price behaves over the rest of the week. There may be a number who have taken fright, but held on to take the divided before heading for the exit. Once we get into next week though, with all the excitement of the new capital and the ex d date behind us, I shall be disappointed if we do not see the share price start a decent rise. Those looking to reinvest the dividend will of course have their fingers crossed for a month end dip. Every cloud, etc.

Try GKP if you want a bigger dividend. You could argue Kurdistan risky but at least it ain't woke and led by a caricature.

Yes, dividend max have it correct..

Yield currently 14.6% !

Ok minus half the withholding tax for most of us but still hard to beat.

That sounds about right based on my experience, paid SD elsewhere earlier. Glad to here that is the norm across the board now in a way, having just paid it!
...but the question is should any of them be charging SD on DEC purchases or not?

ii was the only broker I was aware of that didn't charge SD in the past - unfortunately they do now.

Yes exactly, only 3 days time.
I'm just checking that my W8 Ben is up to date :)
Incidentally is stamp duty always payable on DEC purchases or does it depend on the broker?

Been thinking about getting back in here too long so finally bought back in at just below 105 today. XD soon and I couldn't see sub 105 holding for much longer as we approach the XD date.

I have cash to add if it gets back under 100 on ex-div day. I might get lucky.

One can only use this way to calculate if one bought now and held for 53 weeks . if not the follow year one would have less one qtr div. !!!!

Taking the conventional view of quarterly div totalling $0.175 gives an annual yield of 12% - or 14.2% when held in a SIPP.

That's attractive enough.

Lab is taking the week 53 case so in that instance makes sense - but taking it the other side it would only account for 3 dividends in the next 51 week period……

Lab305,
Qtrly div per annum @ 4 x 4.375
Not 5 x 4.375 !!!!!

Next dividend 4.375c payable for those holding in a week. 53 week's dividend =21.875c assuming dividend stays the same. Less 15% = 18.59375c for 53 weeks. Divide that by 1.21 for today's exchange rate and you get 15.367p for the year + a week. That's more than 15%.

1knocker - ref your 3

That would be true for all resource stocks. The best (or least bad) company in the sector that is mostly gas production (preferred transition energy source), that is not drilling and completing wells (using up natural resources, energy, and base metals) and prolonging the life of wells through its smart well management program... oh, it's DEC
