"And with a market cap of £136m, Mike Ashley could afford Debs as well!"

Really!

And take on £300 million of borrowings and billions of long leases.

Who are these guys?

Talk about ramping these guys seem to have a hidden agenda!

Meanwhile, department stores group Debenhams PLC (LON:DEB) continues to attract buying interest, with many speculators taking a punt on Sports Direct launching a full bid for the company and placing it into a combined entity with House of Fraser.

DEB was such an obvious buy last week when the HoF news broke, why did it take so long for the market to come round? Shares up another 8% today

Debenhams shares are still a touch lower than they were a month ago however... at a princely 13.86p. And with a market cap of £136m, Mike Ashley could afford Debs as well!

The shares were up 7.5% at 14.26p, valuing the company at around £163mln – you could buy a half-way decent centre-forward for that.

Once break 15p ..you will see hiw quick it fly

But it hasn't broken 15 pence, this is not the first time the share moved more than 20% up then fallen back far lower.

Aug 17 then April 18 just two examples.

One swallow does not make a summer, and some of the buyers will be struggling to swallow when the next profit warning comes.

High of 14.4 today still finished at about 13.7 having been lower.

The Telegraph article was bound to have an impact some commentators mentioned shorts closing but no large amounts from my perspective and in any event they may increase again.

Despite the Telegraph article which I felt was misleading there have been more important matters today in inflation. RPI has risen and worse is women's clothing faring quite bad.

Clothing and footwear, with prices falling by 3.7% between June and July 2018, compared with a smaller fall of 2.9% between the same two months a year ago. The effect came mainly from women’s clothing and footwear.

Not good, wages stagnant when compared to inflation overall which is slowing down customer spend and women's clothes falling while input coats rising which will erode Debenhams margins.

So overall I still see a profit warning sooner than later and I suspect before the end of September.

Next target Debenhams 20pence

A margin call happens when a broker demands that an investor deposits additional money or securities so that the margin account is brought up to the minimum maintenance margin. ... The investor must either deposit more money in the account or sell some of the assets held in the account.

Shorts so doomed to failures and the Jeepers Creepers.

Please do your own research.
