22/1/2019 15:34 | I don't think creditors loose out but it's a chance to close down loss making store without liabilities as well as offsetting redundancies. That has to strengthen possibility of being able to repay current debt. For me it has to happen and I dare say MA would support it. | terminated
22/1/2019 15:20 | Not sure... "If he waited for administration he could be out bid and lose the £100 million he paid for his shares." There are unlikely going to be many queuing up to bid even on administration in these times of over borrowed companies with the world economy slowing. Philip Day maybe but not many more. One has to bear into account the most profitable stores in Madasin only got a low ball offer! | debsdowner
22/1/2019 15:13 | hoper2 True - that's the sticking point here - I did say that last week - exactly the same - if it went intto administration he could be outbid. Have to work out what a CVA would do to the shares. 75% of creditors would need to agree though! | niggle
22/1/2019 14:59 | Todays rise is just the start. Looking Good!!!!!!!!!!! | kammi1
22/1/2019 14:40 | Ashley may wait for DEB to go into administration, but he may try a CVA or re-negotiation of their leases instead. With HofF he invested about £10 million in their shares and then bought then out of administration for £90 million. With DEB he has already invested £100 million in their shares and it will cost him an awful lot more to buy a debt free DEB out of administration. He basically already has control of DEB with his 30% holding, if he can get a CVA or re-negotiation away his 30% would be a lot more valuable than it is now. If he waited for administration he could be out bid and lose the £100 million he paid for his shares. | hoper2

22/1/2019 14:05 | "Sports Direct bought House of Fraser after it went into administration." No reason for shareholders to be able to extract a penny out of Debs after administration. They will go, he will wait. There no benefit for landlords to agree now. The company would be leaner after administration and more readily afford the rents. That's the time to re-negotiate. | niggle
22/1/2019 13:46 | It seems that the willingness of Land lords to reach agreement with retailers has been the reason for this rise. INTU has reached agreement with HoF on 4 stores. | kammi1
22/1/2019 13:31 | House of Fraser BBC business live 12:59 Four more House of Fraser stores saved "House of Fraser stores in four shopping centres owned by Intu have been saved following talks with the department store chain's owners, Sports Direct. The stores at Chapelfield in Norwich, Lakeside in Thurrock, Metrocentre in Gateshead and Victoria Centre in Nottingham had been earmarked to close. An Intu spokesperson said there had been "constructive discussions" and "an interim agreement" had been reached. Sports Direct bought House of Fraser after it went into administration." | debsdowner

22/1/2019 12:47 | There may be some value in the High Street but not here with the billion of leases that is why MA will not bid, he waits for administration. | debsdowner
22/1/2019 12:46 | Everything goes full circle and Ashley has for the foresight. Amazing how the fake trolls go away when the share price rises. hammering up. Please do your own research. | qantas
22/1/2019 12:40 | Would love it to be a turnaround story. MA seems to buying the high street not just one or two chains. He must think ,like me ,that there is value here in the long term. It has been depressing to watch red on the screen on a daily bases and read the negative posts here. Good to have a turn around. | kammi1
22/1/2019 12:03 | High street job losses discussed on LBC James O’Brien.12pm now. Would love it if some posters on this board were on | joj1
22/1/2019 11:47 | The most telling news is this. That MA will not move until Debs has gone - no knight in shining armour. Be interesting to see how they go with renegotiating the leases though. | niggle
