So de la rue now begging banks for more money better terms and pension fund to defer payment. de la rue staff (large scale redundancies) and shareholders (no dividends and £100M equity raise) are the losers here. The board are the only winners having lined their pockets with ludicrously high salaries for last 3 years, promising salvation. No one wants to take them over or merge, their competitors just watching them fail and ready to take their customers. Buy at your peril.

Not every corporate stake goes to plan for pe. Crystal Amber has well and truly been burned here. They certainly won't be getting their original stake back even if they managed to save this sinking ship!

the likes of Brandes Investment Partners, Crystal Amber, Odey don't buy stakes in stocks to lose. They are going to give Clive Vacher one hell of a kicking. Crystal Amber in particular didn't hesitate to aggressively criticise Vacher even if doing so probably hurt its equity. They will not let the company fail but they will be rolling heads for sure.

Heads will have to roll - the position of the chairman is untenable now and I'd say others also need to be fired.

kooba. NO extra notes being printed for the UK

Notes to enter circulation mid 2024

Other Commonwealth countries may think differently, but why.

I bought DLAR when Liz Truss received the message in the house of commons and sold the next day after hearing on the radio that Royal Mail had previous guidance from Prince Charles' office.
Prince Charles had let it be known that he did not want any stamps printed with the Queen's image being destroyed and the new stamps of the King should only be introduced once the current stock had been sold.
I assumed he would have the same opinion on bank notes.

"New banknotes will only be printed to replace those that are worn and to meet any overall increase in demand for banknotes. Our approach is in line with guidance from the Royal Household, to minimise the environmental and financial impact of this change."

I guess this is where one finds out what a business is really worth? Well done Tiger, a profits a profit. Thank goodness this is one I avoided when I had a look at it 18 months ago. Will the CEO fall on his sword? Looks like a Girl Guide could have done a better job and for far less money.

There's not many people who have made money out of this basket case over the last few years! Your one of them, the greedy incompetent board of directors are probably the other ones!

Total hysterical over reaction. The sharescwere 100p when the Queen died in October. Business fluctuates. It's not curtains as soon as the cycle hits a low. Private Equity will buy this. worth 80p

Basically insolvent, shares are worth zero. Would a white Knight step in now? Probably not, the tasty morsels will be had in administration, shareholders left with nothing. Usual story, basket case Britain strikes again.

most of what Crystal Amber Asset Management complained about has resulted true.

They have about 10%.
Brandes also have about 10%.
ODEY ASSET MANAGEMENT LLP is probably adding in the background - notification on 24 March 2023 was for 6.89%
Other holders must be unhappy with the performance too.

If they join they can easily force DLAR to do big changes.

management in here needs a shakeup

Spectra Systems market cap 83.72M

De La Rue a pitiful 69.18M

they need to focus a lot more on authentication. It can be a money stream if handled right - for governments authentication is the key to taxes.

i think the fall is overdone though

I wonder who will be buying in the background

Odey is my bet.

Also am I mistaken or currency notes in the UK will still need to be changed in the coming years now that the queen is deceased?
