MTG - You're right. I though the end of May had been mentioned in the RNS announcing suspension but re-visiting them it makes no mention of any date. As such I guess the end of May came up as a result of bb postulating. Must remind myself to pay less attention!

Still they have had a whole month and this deal has been brewing ever since Stanley brought into Optare so it is frustrating that it is taking so long to resolve. I just hope it is not proving too distracting for the managers given the job of running the two concerns.

Not sure it was a promise - more of a "should be sometime around the back end of May" if I recall correctly. But still tiresome.

Well I thought we were promised news end of May. Frustrating that this is taking so long.

topv.---I also was into Tan very early, mostly in the teens and twenties and like you fancied following RS's latest (maybe last?) big venture.I'm sure he's learned much with Tan that might benefit Darwen. Here's hoping he does well for both of us!Good luck.

littlealbatross - agreed, Comeleon plc didn't work. I consider myself one of the unluckiest Tanfield investors - bought shortly after the reverse takeover in the single pennies and bailed out for a small profit when it looked like Tanfield may go bust. Could have been a 50 bagger...oh well!...I got into Darwen early. I think Roy Stanley is an impressive entrepenuer..what he has done with Tanfield is quite phenomenal!

Neither of the people I spoke with this morning at Cenkos and mc2 could give a date.

The last indication we had about when the shares would return from suspension was "around the back end of May".

May ends tomorrow. Last May trading day today. Anyone spotted any obvious signs of imminent activity??

Also, on April 22nd, Roy Stanley took over as chairman of Business Link North-East (BLNE).

As a figurehead for industry in the area, his cv is likely to be frequently referred to. His portfolio of interests maybe looks more impressive if he sheds some of the lesser interests.. though I would guess it is more to do with freeing up time to focus on Darwen, Tanfield, and BLNE.

topvest..........Hope you don't think that I'm implying that there is anything wrong with RS leaving the boards of those two. They were always very minor (once described to me as almost 'hobbies') parts of his dealings.Only 24 hours in the day.He probably knows himself that he's got enough on with Tan ... and now Darwen being pretty much near the start of his vision for it.
I do and have followed his dealings for some time.He did get it wrong, very wrong though with Comeleon. If you're in here let's hope he makes a big success of Darwen.

Nothing wrong with that...probably been asked by investors to focus his time on Tanfield and Darwen. It won't stop him continuing to invest in more fledging businesses though I'm sure. Always worth following his various investments.

MT.....a while back I had a list of about 20 of RS company appointments. Most were Tan/'Old' Tan related.Others included the likes of DATA,Clickhere,Joeknowsit,LB,Walkerwalls.
He left Northern Bear (Chairman J.Pither,ex Tan) about this time last year.N.Bear produced some excellent results a week or so ago.CEO,Graham Forrest expects it to be rerated in about a month according to the video link given by sbs on the NTBR board.
Roy's been a busy lad!Hope he now focusses on Tan and Darwen.

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Plus-listed DataSMS Holdings Plc. said Roy Stanley will step down from the board from May 31 and senior independent non-executive director Keith Robinson will take over as chairman.
'The business continues to perform well, and I wish everyone involved in the business well for the future,' said Stanley

I didn't even know he was there. And now he isn't.

Is Mr Stanley given time going to develop tanfields tech to manufacture it into Optare/Darwen range of chosen vehicles?.

I'm not convinced that this is what Stanley has in mind. I suspect he has a better masterplan for the technology than buying this outfit, another failed Arc Equities creation.

Or Optare/Darwen buy the company and get the technology on the cheap. Odds in favour of Stanley looking v closely at this one.

So TT have lost the Optare order through not being quick enough? And Optare will now buy elsewhere? Or just that the order won't get completed till next year?

Did somebody on here suggest Roy Stanley was interested in Traction Technology?
Today's trading statement stated that the sale of the business was one option.

Look, you kids just keep your shoulder to the wheel and pay those taxes, so we can cruise around for free in the manner to which we are becoming accustomed.

There are investors who pay for the kind of customer feedback we are providing you with, and which is helping you invest wisely. We don't have to just hand you this data - there are research agencies we could sell it to if we weren't so generous. 'Grey Power' dontcha know. Not that I am anywhere near grey myself mind.
