16/8/2020 08:49 | Not sure about any disagreements but certainly the company hasn’t made any assurances about the future. Current redundancies were based on numbers required for a 20% reduction in capacity next year which goes someone in explaining the 50 or so Boeing drivers been given the boot. Airbus guys sadly never had a hope. Only time will tell of course but if the numbers in Greece and Turkey keep going up and the government introduces quarantine, things will get a whole lot worse very quickly for everyone. | doris18

14/8/2020 15:03 | A low-cost airline has revealed plans for a new UK base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, its first in the North of England, and a series of new routes. Wizz Air's new base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport will be the second base for Wizz Air UK, the group's UK-registered and based airline, alongside London Luton. The new destinations are the Spanish cities of Alicante and Malaga, Larnaca in Cyprus, Faro in Portugal, Lublin in Poland, Kosice in Slovakia and Suceava in Romania. The new base is set to increase the annual capacity of Doncaster Sheffield Airport by 150,000 seats. It is also expected to create about 36 direct jobs and more than 110 indirect jobs in the Doncaster area. Owain Jones, managing director of Wizz Air UK said: "The creation of our second base in the UK is a major milestone for Wizz Air UK, and testament to both our long term commitment to serving the UK market and the strength of the Wizz Air business model, as we continue to expand our footprint during this challenging time for the industry. "We're delighted to be introducing new low-fare connections to Doncaster Sheffield, to provide customers with opportunities to explore new cultures and cities, or return to their favourite holiday spots. The Wizz team looks forward to welcoming customers old and new on-board our young and green fleet of Airbus aircraft very soon." | castleford tiger

14/8/2020 11:23 | senn1, Reason I ask is EZJ confirmed 23 aircraft sale and leaseback deal completed this morning, raising £608mln. That's £2.4bln liquidity raised in different forms since crisis began for EZJ. Given their cashburn (£120-160mln/month per previous guidance), it was crucial they raised this liquidity. I am trying to understand the burn profile here. Cash | cashandcard
