DAIRY CREST GROUP PLC

LONG TERM INCENTIVE SHARE PLAN ("LTISP")


The Company has made a further award of options to participants in the above
Plan, including the four executive directors listed below.  The following
options over ordinary shares of 25p each were awarded on 22 July 2002, based on
a price of £4.15 per share:

J W D Hall                       86,746
M Allen                          44,578
I C Laurie                       62,650
C D Roberts                      53,012

Notification of the awards has been made to directors today.

The total number of LTISP options currently outstanding for each director is as
follows:

J W D Hall                      295,005
M Allen                         156,503
I C Laurie                      270,909
C D Roberts                      99,635

Exercise of awards is subject to the achievement of performance conditions over
a three year performance cycle.
