J Teeling didn't exactly steer the Petrel ship very well in Iraq did he? Nor Persian Gold in Iran? As you can see, he likes high risk high reward plays where the outcome is paydirt or bust. To be fair to him, he did hit paydirt with African Diamonds. But DOO is looking more like a flop. JT has deep enough pockets to pick up and move on. Do you?

I think they have about 18 months before they run out of cash and are declared bankrupt. Their delivery on volume is not looking optomistic and a big ask but their only chance is what they can source from third party to top up their short comings on volume.

I reckon they have about a 20% chance of success...not good odds on this lame horse

Haven't really followed this company, but I find it staggering that so much cash has been washed down the plughole. Why didn't the major shareholders take control of the situation here???

Anyone can steer a ship in calm waters, if this John Teeling is as good as you say he is then he is steering a ship through a tidal wave

Bionas Group, which is headquartered in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is considering a £500m (Malaysian Ringgit RM2.45bn, US$807m) listing of its subsidiary Bionas Fuel (UK) Ltd on London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM), reports the Malay Business Times.

"We hope to list Bionas Fuel on London's AIM by the middle of this year. We want to list there because we want to supply to the European biofuels market" said Bionas Group Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Safi'e Jaffri. "We have a plant in Birmingham that is able to produce jatropha additives to make biodiesel" he added. He also confirmed that Barclays Bank will handle the Initial Public Offering (IPO). "We hope to raise as much as £500m. The money will mainly be used to expand jatropha plantings in Africa" he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

In the last three years, Bionas has introduced contract farming among smallholders in Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak states. So far, its farmers have planted around 273,000ha. Under its Murabahah program, Bionas sells 500 jatropha seedlings, including fertilizer, at RM3,000 – enough to plant and grow a 1/4 acre land plot.

"It costs around RM18,000 to plant up to one acre with jatropha and when the fruits are ready for harvest four months later, we buy it back at RM1.05 per kg" explained Mohd Safi'e. "Through the concept of Musyarakah or joint venture, we facilitate the farmers to plant jatropha and profits from the yield will then be shared via the Murabahah programme".

The ripened jatropha fruits are then sent to press mills for oil extraction. "We have five press mills in Malaysia, of which four are in Sarawak and the other in Sabah" continued Mohd Safi'e. "The crude jatropha oil is synthesised into a stable emulsion using a nano emulsion and polarisation technology. There is no need for a refinery or trans-esterfication of oils into methyl esters."

"The advantage of jatropha biodiesel compared to conventional vegetable oil based biodiesel is that it is not edible. We do not face the dilemma of food versus fuel like that being faced by biodiesel producers that use vegetable oil or animal fats" he explained

No it wasnt positive. They have only managed 500 tonnes in 6 months. They estimate 1200 tonnes for 2010/11 so have to find 700 tonnes by end of 2010/11 season. Then to make up to the promised 2000 tonnes they must buy from 3rd party.

Basic maths = Cash burn £3m x 1.63 = $4.89m
2000 tonnes x $1000 = $2m

Shortfall cashflow = $2.89m

They are struggling to produce 1200 tonnes without 3rd party and need to produce 4800 tonnes to be cash nutrual...making them a long way off mark

So not positive IMHO
