The results are out at companies house and technical fibres makes interesting reading. There was a large write off of an intercompany balance but before this it made a pre tax profit of nearly £4m. The whole thing must surely be worth more than £20m?

In many ways I think this would be better managed by the banks - they would likely close the paper division and sell off the AM business at a decent multiple, payoff the debt and be left with a decent wedge for shareholders.

The alternative is more of the same with the outlook for paper deteriorating further with the truly uncompetitive energy costs in the UK only getting worse. Sadly the chairman is only 51 and looks set to encumber the group with his ESG nonsense for many moons to come.

The new CEO is a materials man - this appears to have now become the focus.But maybe that was the case before also - Adams the wrong man to lead that.Whilst uncertainty remains re. P & P of course, I can't see this announcement as a negative on balance.

Not sure I am going to congratulate the board just yet and will reserve any praise until they shutter the P&P business. I suspect Steve Adams resigned because the board once again refused to countenance closing the division.

This is good news indeed imv.Adams was a P & P guy - the low margin rubbish bit. The new guy headed a £175 million market cap company in Zotefoams.Seems Cropper has listened to what needs to happen here re. driving the materials side in line with getting the business on a growth trajectory. Adams has bought NO shares if he had loads of LTIPS. Can I say Bravo to the BOD and management. Here's hoping.
