Results are indeed a significant improvement on last year. The acquisition of SpinReact has had a very positive reaction in the accounts.

OK..a look at the accounts in more detail:

Turnover from both SpinReact and Cozart were well above forecast, but offset by admininstrative costs which were up by ~£2m. £1m of that is the increased wages bill from the additional staff, but I can't see any adequate explanation for the other £1m in the accounts. Hopefully the webcast, 10:30am today, may shed light on this.

Profit in the UK was £(0.4m) - as per last year. The profit came from outside of the UK, which suggests that the SpinReact acquisition was the reason for the profits.

It's certainly progress and who's going to complain when the company has started to make money rather than burn it.

Turning a profit at all levels is indeed a great achievement. The next 12 months could prove very rewarding. I particularly liked the reference to significant progress on the "development agreement with Philips".

These results look nothing short of excellent to me :-) Straight into profit and after two acquisitions. Hope I get chance to add to my shares :-/

A webcast of Cozart's annual results presentation will be available via the
Cozart website: www.cozart.co.uk at 10.30am (BST) on 31st August 2006.

The Prelims should certainly give us PI specific information from which to get an idea of where CZT is at and going.

Is it significant that the prelims this year are a full month earlier than last year's?

Probably not.

But we can hope!

The indicated bid/offer price of 27.5/29p sits at odds with the 'buy' of 22,400 shares @ 31p this pm!

The word on the street is that we are likely to see some buying interest very soon, I will know more to-morrow

Gombie: A couple of news articles about roadside drug testing being likely in the UK in the next couple of years - WengerB posted one of them - maybe investors were hoping for a quicker decision?

The sells were taken on by WINS and EVO who both immediately dropped their bid price (WINS now has an almost 15% spread so isn't interested in making a market). The current bid price is being solely held by the house broker NUMS, which by my estimates has only about 500K of stock left over from the fundraising @ 28p so, for probably self indulgent reasons, doesn't want to drop its offer price.

Any sensible reason for the drop today or is share price just reacting to 3 small sells?

I bought 75k, this has winner written all over it, and if the new MDY board think so, then as I know that they just cannot make a mistake, its good enough for me.

As Dinky says, My money is where my mouth is, on Cozart

Good Luck

Wenger,

Charles Spilling has joined MDY as CEO from Numis, now isn't that a co-incidence!!, where he was I believe, head of medical sector investment.

MDY have indeed taken a small stake (1.2%) and of course it is in the hope or should we say, belief, that the company will prosper.

My point is that MDY just cannot risk making a bad investment at this early stage of their life, unless I am totally wrong, we can all bet that Cozart are a company with a future, so much so, that I am seriously looking of joining you.

Medisys which within the coming days will metamorphose into MDY Healthcare has some very well connected players that are yet to show their prowess, the next month could well be interesting.

Good Luck with Cozart.

JL. Forgive me but I don't quite see what Medisys events have to do with the market capitalisation of Cozart. Medisys has taken a rather small stake in Cozart, presumably in the hope that Cozart will prosper. Cozart might help Medisys but I don't see how the reverse can happen to any great degree.

My reference to "several weeks" refers to Cozart's prelims (which are due, I believe, towards the end of September). My hunch is that these might pleasantly surprise the market. We can then expect Numis (which seems to have done an excellent job in placing the new Cozart shares in the past few days) to issue new guidance and to start to try to warm up institutional investors.

I agree with Wenger, the long game is in play, but with the MDY egm scheduled for next week and trading due to start in September in the MDY shares on AIM, I would think that six months would be about right....imo

Earlier posting by simon8

I was refering to their prior incarnation - and not a lot has changed about the management of the company since then - they precised over a catastrophic destruction of shareholder value and made some terrible decisions!!!!! Just warning you

...............
jimmyloser inc. view
Medisys indeed have an appalling track record, however MDY Healthcare PLC has no record at all, but they do have two NEW outstanding board members in Alan McKay the head of healthcare investment at 3i and Charles Spilling who has been appointed CEO of the new MDY company, Charlie was head of healthcare development at Numis, both 3i and Charles have put money into the new company, which bodes well methinks.

I will watch this share price carefully, if they have bought then that is good enough for me, because, at this fledgling point in the newco development, one would summise that they WILL NOT HAVE MADE A MISTAKE.

I may even BUY some myself!!!!..though Mdy looks like it is about to boogie.

I don't think those are "sells". I think that it's Numis placing almost all of the shares that it underwrote as part of the process by which Cozart made the Scandinavian acquisition announced earlier in the week.

Had anyone tried to sell nearly 2m shares, the price would have fallen very sharply.
